Favorite Albums
I looked back and surprisingly, I didnt see this topic posted before (unless I overlooked it).
What are your top albums of all time? No limit on the number. Top 3, Top 10, Top 50, 100, whatever. Feel free to add what you like about it. Could be the general theme of the album or maybe a time of your life that it reminds you of. Or if there's a favorite song you may have from it.
For me, its:
Every Cat Stevens Album
Every Lynyrd Skynyrd Album
Every Beatles Album
Loggins & Messina On Stage - A 2 record album, but I really only like side 1
Bill Cosby, Why Is There Air?
Charlie Daniels - Million Mile Reflections - Even though Devil Went Down To Georgia is the hit from this album, the title track is my favorite
Deep Purple - Made In Japan - Incredible live versions of Lazy and Space Truckin
Rolling Stones - Steel Wheels - Live album with a blistering version of Little Red Rooster with an INCREDIBLE solo by Eric Clapton
Frank Sinatra - Sinatra's Sinatra - A Greatest Hits album, but I love this version of In The Wee Small Hours of The Morning
Alan Jackson - Greatest Hits - Lots of really great songs and well written lyrics, favorite is Remember When
Bon Jovi - Lost Highway - Not a bad song on that album
I know there's more if I took more time to think about it. I also usually prefer "live" albums to studio recordings.

Re: Favorite Albums
I don't know how I left Billy Joel out of my favorites, and I have to say that ALL of Billy's albums are included (except Fantasies and Delusions, just not into Classical music). Even though Cold Spring Harbor, Streetlife Serenade and Turnstiles didn't generate hits when they were released, many of the songs on Songs In The Attic are tracks from those albums. This was a live album that was released in 1981 and was a compilation of his earlier work. The version of "She's Got A Way" that we all know from the radio is the version from this album, but was actually a track on 1971's Cold Spring Harbor. Anyone that has ever heard Cold Spring Harbor knows that it was recorded at the wrong speed and Billy sounds like one of the Chipmunks on it and because of that, almost ruined his career. Fortunately for him, he released Piano Man after that.
If you re a Billy Joel fan (or even if you re not) and haven't heard Songs In The Attic, I highly recommend it.

Re: Favorite Albums
10 is a fantastic album, remember listening for the first time...
Pearl Jam, tried to get tickets right after 10 came out...no way, that's when Vedders found out the tickets were being bought in huge blocks and then resold at ridiculous prices.

Re: Favorite Albums
I had to push this to the front again because I got to wondering.
What about just a favorite love song?
I'm sitting here listening to Unchained Melody on the pan flute.
Now Free's love songs are at the top of my list but some of the others I listen to and love are so tragic.
