Shy Pussy
Hi everybody,
We got a kitten a little more than a year ago. It seems to be very shy and cautious towards strangers. She'll always hide when people come over. We're quite concerned about leaving her with someone while we go away. Not that we've planned anything yet. What is the best way to go about this so she'll feel the most comfortable. Which is best:?
To leave it with a boarder
To leave it with someone else
To pay someone to come in to feed and clean her
What would be the best for her and should we be concerned? Chazzy... you have cats what's your advice?

Re: Shy Pussy
i would get someone to come in and baby sit time to time,we have two cats and the black one he don't care about strangers, he likes everyone and if you got food he likes ya even better, the other one don't like strangers she hides and unless she knows ya.so i wold leave enough food for a day or two use better litter while gone, we have 3 boxes one for each cat.and if ya take them to a place to board it will stress them out I'm sure if its skittish, i had one we put in a pet carrier it didn't like that either, crapped and Pissed all over in there and it didn't smell so good. so i would get someone to check on it or them from time to time, feed and water and clean the box....

Re: Shy Pussy
I'm so sorry, Stevons, I'm looking at the date on your post, and don't know how I missed this.
A few of my cats are really shy too. We just came back from vacation this past September. We had someone come in and take care of their feeding them, and putting out the fresh cat litter (they hate a dirty cat box) They hid from the guy the first few days, but they adapted, he gave them canned food ( a favorite spoiler for them) and they began to befriend him.

In addition, have the person stop over a few times before ya leave. That way the cat gets use to seein' em.
