Re: myth or fact
Weight loss and penis size have nothing to do with each other. The origin of this myth is that when guys work out and get all buff, they get big thick muscles before they tone them back down to normal size, during this time the penis looks smaller in comparison, but it is only because the surrounding muscles are bigger than they are usually.
The cells that are in your penis that account for its length and girth do not get metabolized and are pretty much set from birth, although they can be manipulated similarly to how you manipulate a muscle. Once one of these cells are created, they cannot be destroyed through normal metabolic processes without being in severe starvation which is a more pressing matter to eat than worry about your dick size when you reach that point.
There are only two proven ways to increase your dick size. The first is a surgery, as the cells responsible for making you firm are actually about an inch or two in your body. The second is to masturbate, a lot. Repeated use of these cells can 'damage' them and they repair in a manor similar to muscle repair which causes them to multiply. There are different techniques for masturbating that can affect length and girth separately. If you're lucky you can probably see an inch growth in length and maybe a quarter inch increase in circumference. Not exactly a huge difference, but to some men it is important.
As far as penis size and weight loss is concerned, you're basically just seeing an optical illusion.

Re: myth or fact
Geez, are you sure that was a real "friend" that told you that to start with? I would think a friend would have something more supportive to say.
You can trust Mooant's information and tell your "friend" to shut up.

Re: myth or fact
Yes and no. From what the doctors, and others, have said, there is a direct correlation with penis size and weight gain/loss. As you gain weight, the fat will fill in that area causing the penis to become shorter. As you lose the weight, more of the penis will be visable. The doctors say for about every 30 lbs you lose, you would gain approx 1" of length. Yes, you already have the size that nature has given you, it's just that the fat is hiding it. Talk to others that have had large weight loss. They can tell you for sure.

Re: myth or fact
Punch your friend in the head and like Chazzy says tell him to shut up. I've bounced between 200-300lbs most of my adult life. No dif. The illusion, when your on the heavier side is the fat cell in your groin are larger more to view. When you are lighter less skin, stomach, and legs to view and your imaginagination tends to take in the whole area. 'Specially if you are self-concious about it. If you really want to know, in fact. Get a partner to play with. They will tell ya. Take the weight off if you feel the need. The bonuses, You'll feel better and be able to be far more active.

Re: myth or fact
Just try to keep it to a healthy weight loss. 2-3 pounds per week is healthiest, losing over 10 pounds per week is quite excessive. The best way to lose weight is actually to gain it first, by building muscle.
Many people get confused on what the metabolism actually is and think of it as some complicated system. The simplest way to think of the metabolism is as a measurement of how much energy your entire body needs to maintain itself for the entire day. Each cell type in the body (muscle, skin, liver, fat, etc) has a different energy requirement. Unfortunately there's only two cell types that are within your control to manipulate their numbers, fat and muscle. Muscles cells have the second highest energy requirement of all cell types (beaten out by nerve cells which is why heavy thinking can make you tired), and fat cells are one of the lowest energy requiring cell types.
Tangent on fat cells, it isn't within your body's mechanisms to destroy fat cells when they are empty, but when they are full and more energy needs to be stored in them, more are created. So when you get fat, there comes a point where more cells are created. When you become thin again, the extra fat cells created allow for an easier uptake of energy, thus allowing you to get fat easier. So don't let yourself get fat to begin with...
If you do cardio work as a means to burn fat, you have to burn through all the energy reserves in your muscles and blood stream before energy is released from your fat cells. Any adult, healthy or not, can calculate their target heart rate using their height and weight. Calculators should be available online if you search around. The first 20 minutes of cardio at your target heart rate will burn through your energy reserves, any cardio exercise after that will be pure fat burning. Fat burning efficiency is lowered after an additional 20 mins, having somewhat to do with the original energy reserves and the byproducts involved of burning energy with a lack of oxygen (which causes muscle pain as well).
Additionally, long term cardio increases muscle strength in endurance muscle fibers, which allow you to perform tasks for long periods of time without getting tired, but are relatively weak (dark meat). Strength training builds strength muscle fibers, which allow you to perform arduous tasks with relative ease, but only for short periods of time (white meat). Healthy adults have a fair balance between these two muscle fiber types (red meat).
Diet-wise, you body will make anything it is lacking, with a few exceptions. It doesn't really matter what you eat because of this, but it is helpful to avoid eating the 'bad' foods and eat the 'good' foods. The most critical thing is to eat less food than you burn, but that you still eat regularly. When you eat too much, you create fat rather than burn it. When you eat too little, your body goes into starvation mode, where any amount of extra energy it gets it stores away as fat, and will burn off other cells before touching the fat reserves. Several small meals throughout the day is best, basically you should never feel hungry to the point that most people feel during a 3 meal day, but also never feel as full as after one of those big meals. A five or six meal day is most efficient, basically eating about as much food that is the size of a closed fist, and no more than %50 over that size. This isn't as crucial to follow in a weight loss plan, as our society is mostly revolved around a 3 meal day.

During the heat of summer I tend to stick to salads as other foods make me tired and bloated being as I work outside all year. They make a great lunch and give you a lot of energy believe it or not.

Agreed. In the heat of summer, salads are a good option. Nice and cool to the taste and also cool the body temp. Healthy too.

Re: myth or fact
I understand, sometimes it's better to give in to a few cravings, than to deny yourself completely.
I've had to stock all healthy alternatives in my house for the hubs and his health problems and I've adapted very well to all the low sodium and low fat stuff.(I've adapted much better than he)
I've learned to really like stuff like turkey sausage for breakfast, low fat milk and ice cream, salads with a meal. (I don't replace a meal with a salad, I just have smaller portions of the entree with a salad)
Anymore, if we are out and about, stop for a fast food burger, it tastes way too salty. Allot of 'bad for me' foods just don't taste as good to me anymore. I gave up soda for water, and soda now just tastes like heavy sweet syrup. You do get use to diet changes after awhile, and even to prefer the right choices.
