PC or Mac
My Dell laptop as about 6 years old and I'm thinking I may be on borrowed time with it. And some of the things Ive wanted to do with it, such as recording and editing videos and music, has been a chore to say the least. My Son in law, who's very tech savvy said that I'd have an easier time with a Mac. I've also talked with some recording engineers who mentioned a music recording program (dont remember the name) that they use because its the best for recording and reproducing live music, but they said it only works with Macs. I've only ever used PCs and dont have any problems with them otherwise. So before I take the plunge, I figured I'd ask you guys what you use and what you like or dislike about it.

Re: PC or Mac
I develop things for use on the PC via my Mac, so I know both VERY well, and between the two, once you go Mac, you won't go back. For starters, the quality of the hardware is top notch (durability, reliability, integration, etc...). Period. Second, the OS makes using a Mac such a pleasure to work with that it makes it transparent that you are actually using an OS. I am not suggesting perfection mind you, as everything has its quirks, but the OS doesn't feel strapped on or layered like Windoze does. Then there is the OS and hardware integration that you simply can't get from a PC that adds up so many little things that you'd never notice until you experience them all...an epitome of the sum of the whole is greater that the sum of the parts.
Also, the Mac OS is blistering with quality software to add/change functionality of the OS that doesn't make the system inherently unstable or add yet another complicated and non-integrated layer to it.
Speaking of stability, that's what you get in a Mac....I have 3 Macs running 24/7 and have been for over 3 years. In that time, aside from OS updates, I've only had to reboot all three machines an additional 4-5 times combined. There isn't a person alive today that can make that same sort of attestment to a single PC running Windows, much less a collection of 3 of them over a three year period.
Lastly, for whatever reason, if you JUST HAVE to have a PC or need to run Winoze for whatever reason, you can do so on a Mac....Use either a virtualization program that runs WIndoze basically in a portal window, and gain so much Mac OS integration, or boot natively straight into Windoze and bypass the MacOS altogether for those instance where nothing else will do.
So basically, with one machine, you get two with a Mac. Can't say that about a PC.
Hope that this helps.
