Mosquitos, mowing the property, and opening the pool again !
I had almost forgotten about these summer events with the long winter, but someones gotta do it! Im just glad my wife like to mow the land, I think she just likes ridding on the John Deere while suning.
I have been thinking about buying on of those "Mosquito Magnets", I have heard they are better than the "Mosquito Deleto" ? any one have first hand info on either????

Sorry I can't help ya' out with this one. Mosquitos here in Texas are the size of buses! You can't beat 'em off with a ten foot pole! Nothing I've ever tried works *sigh*
Skin So Soft all over the body every time you go outside would be your best bet

Ours breed faster than rats and eat the birds for breakfast. We wear plate armor and use flame throwers to combat them. can't help you.

I know you are a friend of the enviroment too, MH. Attracting purple martins, and adding a few bat houses can help, and keeping any thing or area that can collect water well drained. Ponds and other areas can be treated to kill mosquito larvae. After all of that, then I move on to insecticides...

That's true, Chazzy. I first heard about this stuff on the show, Gardening by the Yard on HGTV. Paul James is a goofy, funny guy but he has a huge green thumb. He talked about this stuff called Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis, or Bti. You can read about it and other treatments here.... (edited)keyword for search ... keysmosquito
Good luck this summer everyone!

Re: Mosquitos, mowing the property, and opening the pool again !
I love watching "The Gardener Guy", and most everything else on HGTV!!!
Thanks for the website link, now I don't have to spend a chunk of my day looking up mosquito stuff to find the natural insecticides. We have a "wash" or small creek, running through lower end of our backyard that can breed allot of mosquitos during the summer.

Thats why I was interested in this thing called Mosquito Magnet, it lookes like a miniture bbq grill because it also uses a propane bottle to give off a scent that attracts mosquitos by the pound and kills&traps them in a bag, I heard they are expensive but work really well, clearing mosquitos for distances up to five acres. they have a smaller one that does one acre for around $300.oo was wondering if any one here actually has one??
