Re: cornball movies
I remember a real cornball of a movie, don't remember the title but I'm sure someone can help with that...
It was a futuristic cop movie starring Sly Stalone and Sandra Bullock. I thought it was the most ridiculous piece of film I had ever tried to watch.

1993, Demolitian Man. A cop is brought out of suspended animation in prison to pursue an old ultra-violent enemy who is loose in a nonviolent future society.

Re: cornball movies
I remember that movie. I thought it was great. I like those that make fun of the more serious. After all, it's a movie.
Think of the Schwarzenegger movies. If it wasn't for the humor, they wouldn't have done much.

Darn near anything with Bruce Campbell (currently in Burn Notice on U.S.A.) is cornball. Think the "Evil Dead" Series, or "Bubba Ho Tep" I love Bruce and will watch pretty much anything he does, especially "Army of Darkness."
"Gimme some sugar, baby."

Exactly! He was a riot and as much as I liked Hercules himself, I loved Autolycus! (Slight aside here, have you seen Xena as Lucretia in Spartacus: Blood and Sand? She's very very good at being eeeeeeeeeeeevil!)

One of my favorites has been "the Blob" with Steve Mcqueen.
It's silly compared to what they make now, yet still makes ya wonder at the end.

I loved the Thunderbirds and found it on TV again a couple of years ago. Also, Johnny Quest and Avengers.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Take the family to the drive in every year, sometimes a couple times, depending on whats playing. There's a drive in between Lawrence and Watervelete. Seven bucks for a car full, showing two movies, you can't beat it.

Re: cornball movies
we would all pile into the station wagon, there was 8 of us kids, with mom and dad. we would bring along an old mattress, and dad would back up, throw the mattress on top, and me and my brothers would lie on top, while my sisters would sit in the back with the tail gate down. did that for a few weeks, and pretty soon every one was backing their pick up trucks in with mattresses in the truck bed..

Re: cornball movies
doubt it. they relied on those concession stands too much, but back then mom and dad could get all 8 of us kids a soda, a hot dog, and either candy or popcorn for under $10 (and we're talking what's considered a king sized candy bar these days...)
