Most Shocking Moments in Music History ?
There's a VHI countdown series with this title, 5 shows each with 20 of the most shocking moments in music History.
I've only caught bits and pieces of a few shows, they mention quite a few things that I never heard of, things I do remember, and some that I was never sure were truth or rumors...
Some were the major ones, Lynard Skynard plane crash, John Lennon's assassination, Keith Moon's death, some were concert related, like the Disco Sucks rally that turned into a riot on a ball field, "The Who" concert where 11 fans died during a stampede, the "Rolling Stones" concert and the infamous Hell Angels murder that occurred there...
What "Shocking Moments" in music history stand out in your mind?

One of the strangest "moments" I did catch on this series...was Gram Parson's death. Whoa...his best friends stole his body, took it to the desert for a kind of "homemade" cremation that included gasoline....that's pretty freaky story.

Re: Most Shocking Moments in Music History ?
Not a "shocking" moment, but always a curiousity....
Carly Simon's "You're so Vain" Who did she write that song about? I had heard all along the song was about Warren Beatty.
From CNN....
Has Carly Simon finally told the world the subject of "You're So Vain"?
In a new version of the 1972 hit song from her album "Never Been Gone," the singer whispers a name during an instrumental break. Played backward, the name is revealed to be "David."
Simon, 64, gave an interview to Uncut magazine about the backward whispering, which prompted the U.K. tabloid The Sun to report that "David" is record executive David Geffen.
But Simon's publicist disputed the theory.
"The man's first name is David," she told CNNRadio, "but it could be one of many Davids."
