Was looking online and found there's many sites that state "follow us on Twitter" or My space or---- You get the idea.
Join a site and keep seeing this. Have to think that I should have just went on twitter or------ 
Oh, there's a very good reason those are called twits.

Twitter is just mass text messaging, Myspace is just mass advertising, Facebook is just a popularity contest...
The next new thing is going to be just as stupid...
This isn't what computers were meant for, some computer geek out there finally figured out how to make himself popular by getting the most 'friends' on a website, then all the jocks and glam girls just shoved him out of the way and defriended him once they figured it out...
So now that geek is just counting all the money he's been making off people being 'popular' online.
You don't need a computer to find out how's someone's doing, its called talking the the bitch or bastard!

i have a Facebook profile, that's it. it's helped me reconnect with a lot of friends from high school, and i've found a lot of old friends that i have lost touch with over the years. it's an cheap & easy way for me to keep in contact with my brother who lives in Nebraska.

Good summary Moo....a few family members find facebook allot easier than actually sending written emails with photos, I find it less personal.
Facebook is the most hacked site on the internet (last I checked) and twitter is useless to me (I don't need to follow my brand of kitchen sink cleaner or laundry soap on over to twitter, etc...)
I don't need a page all about me me me and me...so the myspace/facebook thing isn't for me...I still prefer the sites where there is more of a community and interaction area and less about the blogging my every thought, logging my every move, sharing my every emotion kinda thing.
I use the internet more for a source of updated vast information and resource. I use to drive to libraries and spend the day until the internet.

i do still send my family personal email...but i still use Facebook, to keep in touch with friends from the past. i have rediscovered many high school classmates using it. it's kinda hard to send a personal email to some one you haven't seen in over 20 years...and now, thanks to Facebook, i can. oh, sure, i could use one of those other sites to find an email address, but those cost money.

Okay, I'm coming clean, I have both. The one page I set up to talk with an old boyfriend's kids and get a message to him.
The other one I set up and never used until friends kept contacting me. These sites are used for various reasons; business, invitations, some sort of popularity contest. Like if I know your name or someone you know, ADD ME.
That's bullshit. Actually, I email someone and if THEY ask me to add them I will. I never intiate. Only if I have geniune interest and actually communicate do I care to add anyone. And, I'm in it for the pics when I don't get to see someone regularly.

I'll admit, I have all the accounts to all those places, but my myspace and facebook just say my name on the page and that's it. I never log on, I never post pictures, every now and then I'll post a message about how I think these sites are crap and I'll never really use them like all my friends bother me to.
I got them because when I ask my friends for a specific picture that was taken its just, 'oh, I'll put it up on facebook for ya'. They don't understand how Facebook and Myspace fuck with the compression of the image...

Yeah, had to get a fakeout facebook account for the photo sharing, just like you say Moo...you ask someone to email ya a photo and they just insist on uploading them to their facebook page instead. I'm done with all that, they can keep their photos.
