Re: Sane and sober...
<<<< Insane in the membrane. As far as drinking, I don't. It's been a very, very long time since it did occur, where I was at my wits end, alone in my heart hurting and feeling there was no way out.

Re: Sane and sober...
I've not drank that much in the last 10 or so years. Use to be a normal things for me. Same as eating.
My empoloyment situation changed and I have a lot of time off now so, I've been catching up to the doctor recommended 1 beer per day. :D
I figured out that last week I went thru about 70 cans of beer.
That should have helped average things out.
However, when work starts again, that'll definately end.

Re: Sane and sober...
The other day, I was in the parking lot of a, "Building 19" a store that sells stuff way below stores. Most of their stuff is from fire sales, that kind of thing. Well anyways, I was about to walk in, when I spied a homeless drunk sitting between the in/out door. He sprawled out on something I couldn't make out from my vantage point, as I passed by. He was talking out loud, making comments about everyone going in or coming out of the store. I thought nothing of it until I was leaving. As I passed by, he made a comment about the woman in front of me. He was rude to the point of the look of her being upset. I turned and copped him a look of my own, but that only made him turn his attention on me. As stood there, I could now see what he was laying on, and a devilish idea came to mind. I approached him, staring him straight in the eyes. He yelled out that I was about to beat up a poor defenseless homeless person. I reached in my pocket and produced a quarter. I dropped it in the slot next to him. His bed bedding began to rock willy-nilly as it threw him about. He was sprawled out on one of those coin-operated children's cars, you know the ones you find outside of the grocery stores! Without saying a word, I turned and walked away, getting cheers from the parking lot of people who watched me to see if I was going to actually beat him up or something...

Makes ya wonder about why the store personal didn't do anything to have him removed.

To get an idea of a, "Building 19" outlet, simply imagine a Wal-Mart that has mixed-matched vinyl tiled flooring that's never been washed...ever. The scent of an old library mixed with the smell of musty wet clothes hangs in the air. Unlike Wal-Mart none of the stock even has any kind of order to it. Mix all that with a dark store front at night and a kind of seedy neighborhood and you know what it's like. The cops around there are more worried about drugs and DUI than anything else. So a belligerent homeless guy falls pretty low on the list of their priorities.
