"happy" veterans day
For me thats kind of an oxymoron.I may be grateful & thankful, but when I think of all that our military has gone through, all the loss, the grief, the funerals....I may honor this day but I do so w/a heavy heart....

I understand and agree, It's hard to see the loss, the price paid...the word happy seems to not fit. Respect and thankful work better, if those that served hadn't we'd not have the freedom, things we have now. To all the countries that have joined in retaining freedom. There are then countries that want their freedom yet shun the thought of helping. But, when their backs are to the wall, who do the call first? And if we don't beckon that call in a time frame they like, they turn on us again. If we had set "idly" by and watched as many countries did, and do...would Hitler have succeeded?
So to the men, woman, and the countries they call home, a deep amount of respect and thanks....perhaps happy fits if our gratitude makes those that went through such hell feel the sacrifice they gave is never to be taken lightly..
