The Monday of Thanksgiving week, I'll be doing all the T-day preparations from soup to nuts for roughly 10 family members. It's time for my Mom to relax, plus I enjoy it.

Yeah, good luck with that hog. Hope you use a stand this time or have your fastest running shoes on. And, you find someone else to cook you your favorite side dishes.

When I am preparing a meal for any holiday or gathering, whether it's for 2 or 50, my appetite is diminished. I enjoy having a bite to eat several hours later, guess I'm strange, huh?

Re: The Official Turkey Countdown has started!
Put dem egggggs and water in a metal garbage can, then place the can over an open fire, boiling it for better part of a day. I'm just thinking, that's quite alot of eggggs boiling in that garbage can! Never let alone being around the person a few hours after they eat them.

Oh disturbing Mooant...your primary fantasies of violence towards the adult fowl is now followed by a secondary fantasy of violence towards their young.
How long have you been having these thoughts? What is your first memory of these thoughts? Have you ever acted out against poultry before? Would you consider hypnosis?

Re: The Official Turkey Countdown has started!
Nope, just me going crazy this year...
But I make very clear distinctions in the holidays. Celebrating Thanksgiving doesn't start until AFTER Halloween! Celebrating Christmas doesn't start until AFTER Thanksgiving!
It gets me angry to see Christmas decorations in stores before Halloween! All to cater to the people that want to get their Christmas shopping done early? Do they really need Christmas decorations to do that? October is the month of Halloween, freakin' celebrate it! November is the month of Thanksgiving, freakin' celebrate it!
Capitalism sucks!

Re: The Official Turkey Countdown has started!
I'm a one holiday at a time girl myself. Seeing Christmas displayed before Halloween upsets me a tad too.
I had a pet tom turkey once...his name was Mr.Biggins. They're cute when they are young but once they reach sexual maturity, they are a huge territorial pain in the ass. Very aggressive and they have those giant spurs.
Couldn't be in my own yard without carry a big board.
One day a flock of wild turkeys passed through and Mr.Biggins decided to run off with them (they had females in the flock ya know) I hope he had a long happy life.

Capitalism sucks! the reason that they put the decorations out so early...is so that the REDNECKS can get started on dressing up the trailer! (i'm actually surprised they don't sell Christmas lights all year long!!!)
