Removing a message
I started a forum message today, entered it but decided i wanted to change it, i could still edit it. While entering the change i thought i might as well remove it, couldn't find an option to do this. Is there a way to do so ?

Re: Removing a message
Only a moderator can delete a topic or post.
All others have the timed edit option.
We don't delete any post or topic unless under rather extreme circumstances or otherwise, we'd be way too busy editing for people who simple changed their mind or had a change of heart. We have had in the sites history, those who would use the forum to post something awful and hateful but then plead remorse and want it deleted. But they were not sincere with the remorse, they did their damage and harm, then wanted it deleted so as not to suffer the consequences of their actions and that is why you cannot delete your topics and posts, it comes from the history here.
We do not delete on a members's whim or request, we expect everyone to own up to and deal with their actions. (There are other reasons for deleting, but we (mods) have more rules than ya'all, and we have the rules for pretty good reasons)

Re: Removing a message
lowlands....You've always been a good person, a good member here...someone who's sense and judgement I've come to trust.
The explanation of why you can edit but not delete is just a technical kind of explanation. It has to be that way because some would abuse it, they would post their nasty, do their harm and after the damage was done then delete it...I'm sure you can see how that would be a bad thing.
If you feel you posted something maybe you shouldn't have, just write me or one of the other mods. If you posted something you think you could have said better or differently...then just post a reply and clarify, we can all understand that. You know the people here are so good like that.
(If, you ever again have some doubt, and still have that "edit time"....you can also edit the headline, or topic line too ya know)
