Online safety.... A BIG ASS DEAL!!
Near the bottom of every page here, there is a bold black link "Dating Safety"
There's is some great advice and suggestions there, and we recommend that you take a few and read it over please.
Allot of you that have been here awhile have already read it, and have already seen your share posts like this one, but it's a necessary topic to revisit every so often.
Please jump in and maybe post a few of your own "internet safety" suggestions. That would be appreciated!
Along with the "Dating Safety" guidelines you'll find here, there's a few other things worth mentioning.
If you choose to share email address or instant messenger IDs, you may want to check just how much information is being sent out. You could be very well sending out your full name with your emails and instant messengers. Once someone has your full name, age, birthday, location, etc...they can easily find your front door.
We recommend that you set up a free "junk" email account and consider using disposable phones too.
(Need any help with finding these settings, just holler, I'm not too familiar with allot of online email accounts, and I do not use any instant messaging programs, but someone here will know and be happy to help)
Also, it doesn't hurt to make a habit of googling yourself, (or yahoo, zabasearch, etc...) Using search engines to search for your full name, your screen names, user-names...you might find too, that these search engines contain allot more of your personal information than you want. If that's the case, these search sites do provide links so you can request to have your information removed. It might take a little time, and it might take more than one request, but well worth it if there is too much of your personal info out there available for just anyone to find easily with a little typing and a couple of clicks.
(Any profile that contains the members full name, should be reported...because that not only falls into the "no alternate contact allowed on profiles" rule, but it's so risky for that person, even if they don't realize it or see it that way.

Re: Online safety.... A BIG ASS DEAL!!
Hehe, when it comes to online accounts and filling out info, my name is Moo Ant, I live at 123 Nowhere Lane (in my town that I live). I never use my real email address, its another of those Mooant emails out there that just collects my junk. I've got to know you personally to get my real email (as in face to face contact more than once!).
If I get paranoid about my internet activity, I activate my privacy programs, which hides my computer's identifying information (IP address), although at the cost of internet speed, but its worth it!
