a rainy night
It's been humid all day, but the front blew in, and now just at twilight, a steady rain falls.
I love a rainy night. I love the smell of it, the sound of it through the tree leaves and on the roof, I love the shimmery look of it from headlights and street lamps.
It's just one of those things that I can say is "my Xanax"
Kind of a surreal sedation, to just climb up on the bed of clean sheets with some mocha ice cream, and make the rain the center of my world for awhile.

Re: a rainy night
I'll let you keep the rain for a little while. In the last week or so 6.6" of it was more than enough. Now I have mow the lawn more than once every two weeks, like twice in one week.

Re: a rainy night
It was a dark and stormy night--------------
I know what ya mean. I like the sound of the rain on the roof. "Rolling" thunder in the background. Nice and relaxing.

Re: a rainy night
We can't stop or change weather, so I try to enjoy it.
Soon enough, it'll be cold and snowy so a night of rain isn't so bad.
I slept pretty well last night...

Re: a rainy night
The sound of water is sedating and mellow....a running river, ocean waves, rain, a fountain....(okay, not a drippy faucet so much I know!)
