A couple of my latest......
A New Day
Rabbits and crickets and birds, oh my!
The day begins, the sky, it smiles
Squirrels in the trees and bugs on leaves
the warmth of the sun... and the air, it heaves
A heave unlike a sigh from you or me
the wind knows better, it will always "just be"
The world has awakened, except maybe a few
for the grass on the ground is still pearled with dew
Start this day without a bother
for the earth knows better, it is our mother
A new day to start, a new day to heal
follow the wonders around you, and make this new day real
Moments
In those moments
just before the dawn
when the world sleeps
I feel so all alone
I open my eyes to see the darkness
not wanting to see beyond
for in the light I cannot see
I turn them on and you are gone
And so I rest my weary head
closing my eyes to see beyond
beyond this life that's in front of me
into your life where I belong
