MS09-034 patch

Microsoft today took the unusual step of releasing out-of-band patches for severe security flaws in all versions of Internet Explorer.

I didn't get this via an alarmist "OMG" email that always turns out to be a hoax, I got from emergency website that only sends me an email when there is something very urgent going on, usually weather related within my zipcode. (Or something like 9 11)
I just now got around to reading a bit about this, sounds like I really should download this patch...pretty soon.
Has anyone else?

You probably gets lots of messages about bears defecating the local woods too...

I never knew bears did that. I usually see them in a car along the road.

It's for the Explorer, primarily I think....something to do with a vulnerability that can allow an attacker to run commands or download malware on your computer if you just happen to view an infected webpage.....referred to as a "drive-by-download" attack.
I still haven't gotten around to downloading the patch, I'm so bad about such things...

I got bit by that bug. I always use Mozilla Firefox, but it wasnt working one day when I wanted to use it so I used IE, which I never use. Whatta pain in the ass. Cost me $80 and the loss of my laptop for 2 days.
