is it a good brand?
i was browsing an online ad for K-Mart, and saw that they have computers, they carry HP, Compaq, and a few emachines, but they also had Mirus brand. I've never heard of them. is it a K-Mart only brand? are they any good?
i' also like some opinions on Acer brand computers, are they any good?

Stay away from Gateway and Acer they are under chapter 11 that mean NO warranty I have 4 Gateway M 250 and m 255 sitting in the cabinet that need repairs I can not ever get Gateway on the phone to get them fixed that means we have about $10,000.00 worth of Gateway laptops that are worth less. Acer owens Gateway or the other way around. You do not have to take my word for this just do a Google search for Gateway laptop reviews you can see for yourself. You can do a seach for any brand review before you buy Good luck

Your best beat is to go with a HP or a Compaq (witch is made by HP). If you wait a little bit all computers with vista are going down in price. Acer is crap.

i had a Compaq (a REALLY old one), it was decent. but during my research, i was informed that Compaq is not known for having much room for memory upgrades, and not much room for any type of expansions...i have a Dell right now, it works fine, but it's running on Windows2000. and i don't think it's capable of being upgraded (it might be cheaper to get a new system).

I've only owned laptops. Both hp and very happy with both. I bought the first in 2002 and after several drive problems, it's been working fine for over 6 years. I personally won't buy anything but an HP.
