Farmer's Market
Summer produce!
The peaches are ripe, haven't bought any yet, did pick up a nice watermelon the other day, and have picked several of my own homegrown tomatoes...

We've been getting zucchini, and cucumbers from my Dad. And we've been getting fresh blueberries from South Jersey.
Yesterday for lunch I had a grilled zucchini and cheese sandwich. Today I had a cucumber, onion and watercress sub.
I love summer!!!

Ah, I sure miss having my own big blackberry patch, blackberries are too expensive to buy, but I don't have a good spot to go pick them myself.

Love farmers markets I miss them
Colorado doesn 't have many of them
I miss the black raspberries the most
Can only get red raspberries here
I also miss the green tomatoes
You can't get them here either

What do you do with green tomatoes? I use to go to school with a guy whose gramma made a great green tomatoe pie, and I use to pickle the tiny small end of the season ones...then the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" came out and that's what most people ended up trying...

Green tomatoes are used to make a jelly or you can fry them. I love them fried.
Black raspberries have a slightly different taste than the red ones. But are so good.
You use them just like the red ones.

I've seen many of these as of late. I haven't stopped as I didn't see any farmers I was interested in.
