Proper pronunciation please!!!
I have an issue  with the way some people mispronounce certain words. I know it's petty but it bothers me to no end when I hear words clearly mispronounced. One of those words is "insurance".
It is a three syllable word broken down as "in-sur-ance", with the second syllable enunciated. I've heard it pronounced as a two syllable word "in-shernce" with the first syllable enunciated and the second syllable pronounced as "shernce".
Where the f*ck do these people learnt their inglish pro-nun-see-a-shon? 
Of course I would want to be the last person on earth to make light of any group or region(s) of the country that may or may not be guilty of such mispronunciations!

My sister used to say that she "kellered pixchures wit crowns" which was supposed to mean that she "colored pictures with crayons" It made me crazy!!!

I just saw am interview with one of the women from the A&E tv show "New Jersey Housewives" and she was explaining why she had breast augmetation surgery. She went on to explain why she had the surgery, not because she wanted to be......volumptuous but to make her a little curvier.
Volumptuous?? WTF is volumptuous?? I guess she wasn't lernt good in school.

Yeh, I'm the focus point for some of the tight ass members here. I can't understand their reasons for them sometimes ganging up on me.
Honestly though, I have many friends here and I'm very grateful for that!!

Glad to hear you enjoy yourself up here. Getting back to your pronunciation part. This is not only in English but also in Dutch (that's what i speak). The use of a double negative in a sentence (never had no .... ). Its like math

Everyone else does,(follow the rules) and everyone else is NOT boring, they're allot of fun
There was some actor/comedian from the 50's I believe and that was his thing, mispronouncing big words, it was pretty funny. I can actually tolerate an occasional flubbed word better than I can a habit of some who can't express themselves without cussing a blue streak.

Don't make my job any harder please, he has trouble knowing when it's funny, and when he's really crossing a line, pissing people off and I have to do something.
Sorry, VB...you still have to follow the same rules the rest of us do...it's a simple "nice" rule...no name calling, it's simple.
It is so possible to joke, have fun, tease, and all that without getting derogatory towards any whole group of people, without flaming and name calling, I don't make the rules and guidelines.

Oh VB, you just drop that "I'm such a bad boy rule breaker" act....you're not....the mods have all the buttons and as long as we do, you're not breaking any rules. If it's in the forums, it's "allowed" and without us, your ass would have been deleted within the first few weeks of your arrival on this site so quit thumbing your nose at "the rules" and at the people who try to maintain them.
