Memorial Day
Of course they will be backyard BBQ's, float trips, camping, traveling, etc...it's a long weekend holiday!
Ya'all have a good one.
But...for Memorial Day in the true meaning for which it was declared and created...

this is always a busy week for me, march with the vets, have the sevices the last vet to die, putting the flags up at the cementary, family reunion & my birthday all in the same week, so i have a house full of ppl coming later today

i'll stop by the cemetery and visit my father. other than that, nothing other than an ordinary weekend for me. (i know the reason for the holiday, and respect the memory of all the fallen soldiers! )

same with me. Just another opportunity to have a holiday. i use to really know the day when a b/f of mine was in the Army. but have lost site of the true meaning since.

To all our troops..past and present...
It's just fantastic to see the boy scouts placing all those flags on the graves of the soldiers and learning what this holiday is about.

I myself, as a member of the armed forces, really appreciate what those have done that have served before me. This is a day to honor and remember them. I really think about my Grandfather that served in WWII and passed away in December. To all others that have fallen, served or are serving, today is for you.
