The Science Of Sex Appeal
Always fascinated by this, the pure biology and science of love and sex.
Discovery Channel has done a very good documentary on it.
So much of who we will be attracted to, and even fall in love with seems to be explained fairly easily with brain chemistry and animal biology. I do beleive that...but then again, I also beleive we are creatures with souls and spirits.
Can you tell the difference? Can you tell when it's animal biology or a more deep soulful connection? Is it something you can see in yourself, can you see the differences in others?

Re: The Science Of Sex Appeal
Escerpt from an article on MRI brain scans done on college students in love...
" Brains in love and brains in lust don't look too much alike.
In studies when researchers showed erotic photos to people as they underwent brain scans, they found activity in the hypothalamus and amygdala areas of the brain. The hypothalamus controls drives like hunger and thirst and the amygdala handles arousal, among other things.
In the studies of people in love, "we didn't find activity in either," according to Dr. Fisher, an anthropologist and author of "Why We Love -- the Nature and Chemistry of Romantic Love."
"We now have physiological data that suggests there are different brain systems for sex and love," says Dr. Fisher."

Pretty cool, we can love with our brains?

Loving with our brains is where it all begins, no? Though, there has to be some form of visual attraction, whether it's some form of the body or eyes, etc., the list is endless depending on what each person gravitates to and if you can move beyond the visual, you've got it all; the visual is only a small portion of a person (if that), it's more of what's in the heart of a person. Once the sexual honeymoon is gone with sexaully screwing each others brains out, what's left, and where does it get you in the long run? Common sense is the first venue, no? Sexual desires different in all of us, and are effected in every way, along with what we are dealing with at that specific time in our life and how we've been affected in our lives by others and why we feel the way we do currently in our lives, damn...I'm a freakn biatch ramblin on and on now, lmao! I'm sorry everyone for expressing this.

Re: The Science Of Sex Appeal
I love the science of "love"....the way we are wired to be attracted to symmetry of a face, the way our brain can detect an odor that we can't really smell and tells us that a person is too closely related to us and turn us off or that a person is a good mate choice and turn us on. The way we have no control over what our eyes will focus on first. Men will first look at waist and hip ratio so the "brain" can determine suitability for child birthing and women's brains cause them to immediately focus on upper body to determine health and strength of a man's ability to support and care for her and her young. Stuff like that, then it's the science of love that will keep them together...or not...

You're so right Chazzy, the joy of loving is love in itself!
