She's no longer a spokesperson.........
I saw a scary sight yesterday in the person of Kirstie Alley. She was a guest on Oprah. I couldn't believe my eyes! She was very large......in comparison to her Jenny Craig spokesperson days a few years ago. I guess she lost something like 75 pounds on the Jenny Craig diet and did commercials for them looking decent.
Well forget what she looked like then because she has gained that 75 lbs back plus another 75 lbs on top of that. Man she looked horrible. She made Oprah look like Twiggy in comparison.
I heard her tell the tale of her CHEERS days when she weighed something like 135 lbs, then gained a whole 5 lbs and then the producers threatened to fire her if she didn't lose the 5 lbs and get her weight back to 135 lbs. She said she was a nervous wreck after that. Think about it, she is what, 5ft10in? How did she keep herself that skinny? That anxiety had to have something to do with her constant weight issues later in life. What a shame.....I always liked her.
All I know is I doubt that Jenny Craig would even acknowledge that she was ever a spokesperson for them.

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
Sorry, you know I have to do this VB.
I'd rather see Kristie or anyone happy at whatever weight they are happy with.
It's just your opinion that she now looks horrible, I've seen the woman at her top weight and during her Jenny Craig days.
The only concern I have with anyone's weight is their health and happiness.
We have many women right here VB, that are'nt a size 3, who are robust to plus size and as long as their happy and healthy, I sure think that's beautiful...enough of the pressure to fall into some Madison Avenue idea of beautiful, it's unnatural and unreal.
Real women !!!!!

She did not claim to be at all happy with her current situation. She was moaning and groaning about how crappy she feels. Not a happy person!
I agree with you about being happy with the way you are but she's just a Whopper away from a major heart attack. jmo

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
Poor Kristie, I hope she finds her happiness.
As you said, she was pressured when she was a skinny TV star and pressured when she gained weight.
That's the sad part, she deserves to have a good life.

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
We are programed by the media to believe that thin is the only acceptable body type. When you live in the media like Kristie and so many others, than you know you are the next tabloid headline no matter what you do. She knows that people are judging her a failure because of her weight, wouldn't that cause you to be unhappy???? I would like to see her accept her weight and be happy. We can't all be Twiggy and many of us don't want to be!

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
When her Jenny Craig commercials a few years ago, she was portrayed as a woman on a mission as to her weight loss program. Compared to how she looked say three years ago, she looked much better. I think Jenny Craig used her big time knowing full well she would more than likely "fall off the wagon". Again, she must feel bad the way she was used.
The current sweety that adorns the Jenny Craig ads is Valarie Bertinelli. She's more likely to keep her new teenage figure, in my opinion and Jenny Craigs!

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
Too often, a weight problem isn't the problem...it's a symptom. If the real problem doesn't get fixed, then the weight will continue to be problem no matter what the scales say. Just like a bulimic or anorexic is too skinny for all the wrong reason....
Women can be happy, healthy, and very sexy at their "own" weight, whatever that may be.

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
Kristie is a personable intelligent and attractive woman , she could be a spokesperson for allot of things besides some weight loss diet meal plan company.

If I was her agent, I would have steered her into something other than a weight loss pitch woman.

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
Then is the problem that she "fell off the wagon" or that she didn't learn anything from the program. I understand that they provide your meals. Maybe this is just proof that diets don't work.

Their program is very regimented with no provision for a "weekend off" such as Nutrisystem does. I tried the Nutrisystem diet and to tell you the truth, it got to be way too expensive to maintain.

Re: She's no longer a spokesperson.........
I think that Kirsty has had weight problems most of her adult life. At least since being in "the spotlight". I feel badly for her. The media and comedians in general have made "jokes" and comments about her weight for far too many years.
I'm sure she'll lose the weight again and hopefully with something more reputable than Jenny Craig.

I seem to be confusing Jenny Craig with Nutrisystem......

Frankly, I don't think Nutri-system is any better. Just out to sell thier meals.
