DVD Question
I'm not tech savvy, so....keep that in mind please....I suck at tech stuff but I have this problem I would love to resolve.
We have a Blockbuster DVD rental subscription, we use AnyDVD/Nero, record it on a rewritable and then watch it later(perfectly legal to do that, copy a DVD for your own use)
The problem is, the dialog of the movies seem so low, you have to crank up the volume to hear it (or use the subtitle feature) then when an action or soundtrack comes in, it blows you out of your seat.
We have older TVs so no fancy surround sound speakers about the room, just the TV speakers, during the DVD movie menu set up, we've tried turning off surround sound thinking that could be the problem.
Anyone know what the deal is? Is it in the AnyDVD settings when we copy it, in the movie menu when we play it?
I just tried googling it, but...the results showing up are from way-over-my-head tech forums...
Any one else experience this same problem?

Not 100% sure on this one, but look at the preferences for your software and look for some sort of equalizer or limiter for the audio dynamic range. That would make less extremes between loud and soft parts.

Re: DVD Question
Thank you! Got a DVD today, so will check into that...I wasn't sure where to look...Since we usually watch the movie from a copy on a rewritable, I wasn't sure if it was the software or the original DVD.
I've noticed it on the DVD copy, but when the same movie runs on HBO or another movie cable channel it doesn't fluctuate like that so extremely between the soundtrack and the dialog...it's really ruining my movie watching.
