interesting bits of information
for something to keep me occupied, (and to avoid housecleaning), i looked for people from arkansas on webnaughty.
i found several from places so small, i must either be related or know them. one even has a state park dedicated to a cousin of mine.
small world. (do you ever worry about the guy who runs the "small world" ride at disneyland? i bet he goes to wal-mart and kicks dolls)
did you know that these < > have individual names? < this is a bra. > this is a ket.
the rummage sale at church made $24,000. it's all going for the sunami victims.
one item we had was video tapes (store-bought) of the entire series "star trek- the next generation" and "deep space nine". 225+ video tapes. at 5 for a dollar. one guy bought them all.
if you have an interesting bit of information, post it. so i don't have to clean house.

Re: interesting bits of information
One human cell in its nucleus has 46 DNA molecules. That represents about 6 billion base pairs. Base pairs are nucleic acids that pair up with other compatible, but different, nucleic acids to form the traditional view of a twisted strand of DNA.
Within the cell's nucleus is a virtual replication machine that uses RNA, which is a template, to make more DNA. One base pair finding its unique partner 6 billion more times to form one more little cell.
All this goes on constantly in all the cells in your body 24/7.

Re: interesting bits of information
If you use those drier sheets like Bounce to soften your cloths, you should wash the lint screen out in soapy water once in a while, because the drier sheets put a clue like film on the lint screen making the holes smaller and slows down tha air flow causing the drier to overheat and break down prematurely, this repair man I know says he has seen some screens that water from the kitchen tap could not flow thru them, or else it would drain real slow, but thats the test, put the drier screen under the tap, the water should go right thru and not sit on the screen at all.

Re: interesting bits of information
the earthquake that preceeded the tsunami disaster was so powerful that the earths shape was changed from an oblate spheroid {its slightly compressed at the poles}to a more rugby ball shape (if you will) which inturn (no pun intended)actually makes the earth spin a millionth of a nanosecond faster therefore we are all getting older, quicker.
sorry just thought you should know that

The Great Pyrenees dogs are so sensitive to anesthesia that it can kill them. Great caution is required for any surgery for this breed.
------------------------
Dalmations, with all those cute black spots, are born white.
--------------------------
Chow Chows were originally bred for three reasons: 1) of course, for a great pet/hunter/helper; 2) to keep people warm with their furry hides; and 3) as food (like pigs or cows).
----------------------------
The Bloodhound doesn't need to smell blood to find someone who is lost. It is said that his name instead means blooded hound, or aristocratic.
-----------------------------
Bassets can't swim. Their legs are too short to keep their heavy, long bodies afloat.
-----------------------------
Mixed breeds" and "Cross breeds" are NOT the same. Mixed breed dogs have various lineage that is most likely unknown, as for cross breds, they are only 2 different breeds of dogs combined together. Mixed breed dogs are less likely to suffer from inherited diseases and disabilities than purebred dogs are.
-------------------------
The oldest American breed is the American Foxhound. This dates back to 1650!
-----------------------------
Don't smile at any dog that you feel may be dangerous. To him, you would be baring your teeth as a sign of agression.

The time spent deleting SPAM costs United States businesses $21.6 billion annually
G-rated family films earn far more money than any other rating. Yet only 3% of Hollywood's output is G-rated.

Re: interesting bits of information
Ever wonder why land is such a bargain in some areas? Ive been looking to buy land in SC. for retirement purposes for some time now, after carefull investigation with the help of the EPA, Ive found out there are hundreds of toxic waste site doted all over the US. One such toxic waste site in Chester County,SC. is being used as a feed mill, for turkey producers. You can check out the toxic waste sites in your area.

Re: interesting bits of information
there's places out here you can get big chunks of land for about $100 an acre. 40 + acres a chunk. enough room to run around nekkid.
but if you do, watch out for getting cactus in the dangley bits.

there is an anomaly in the earth's magnetic field within a mile of where you live. (depending on your definition of anomaly. someday, when your bored, try to get a yes or no answer out of a physist. it can't be done.)

QUOTE (allon @ March 12, 2005, 06:54)in America its possible to subpoena a dog. Prosecutors in a Bentonville, Arkansas, murder case sent out subpeonas to everyone who might have had contact with the defendant including his dog. The defendant had written his 5-year-old shih tzu a letter from jail. The defendant's brother attempted to comply with the order by taking the dog to the courthouses but deputies would not allow a dog in the building.

p.s. i am changing my name to "evil thread-killer from heck". i see i was the last person on 17 threads in the last week or so.

Re: interesting bits of information
weinie dogs were first bred for hunting badgers ( very nasty critters), to go down the badger hole and get'em. the word dachshund means badger dog. also explains why the skin on their necks is so loose. doxies are hunting dogs.
dachshunds would make excellent dogs to hunt for people after eathquakes and mudslides. but their legs are too short. they can smell things underground real well.(according to my vet).
a doxie + a mole = a back yard full of holes. (personal experience).the problem being, the blasted mole-holes are to small for her to go into. but she keeps trying.
