Stupid F*ckin' Father.........
Last fall at a weapon demonstration and gun show in Westfield Ma, an 8y/o was given an UZI machine gun to try. A police officer (sponsor of the gun show) and the boy's father were standing near him on the firing line. As the boy lifted the gun into firing position, he pulled the trigger, the gun kicked up and not able to take his finger off the trigger, the boy was hit in the face with one of the rounds from the UZI. The boy died a short time later.
My beef with this entire tragedy is wtf is an 8y/o little boy doing firing a weapon such as a machine gun in the first place? The police officer that recruited the gun companies in the first place, knew the inherent dangers of the demonstration weapons especially the machine guns and that he totally ignored those dangers so he could place that weapon in that boys hands.
My other issue with this whole thing is the boys father also wanted the boy to have the experience of firing the UZI.......but did not fire one himself beforehand. He apparently had no clue as to the power of the weapon. This father is an emergency room physician, very experienced in gun violence and sees what guns can do to the human body. This "father" gave an interview just two hours after his son died. To hear it played back, you wouldn't suspect that his son just died tragically.
Why wasn't that little boy out playing in the yard with his friends? What was he doing at a f*ckin' gun show and worse, why was he holding a people killer such as that, loaded and ready to fire?
The police officer who sponsored the gun show is currently on trial for that little boy's death and the dad? I'd guess he's back at his job in the OR, trying to save gunshot victims. I wonder just how much he blames himself for his son's death? He ought to be held criminally liable for his son's death just as much as that police officer!!
