Octomom
Ya know...that single mother of six who just gave birth to octopulets(14 children total)
She has no real way of supporting all these children, she lives in a house owned by her mother, the father of all the children (inclucding the original 6) are from a friend who is nothing more than a sperm donor.
Ugh....she's all you see when you tune in to any news program or talk show...
The thing is,it really is quite a puzzler as to if anyone should intervene into her life. Yes, quite a strong doubt of the mental stablity and sanity of this women who just wants babies, but the babies are here, all 14 children do need whats best for them.
It would be tragic for the children to all get split up and seperated out in the fostering system, just as tragic if they grow up with no real chance of their mother being able to afford them a good education, etc....and pathetic that she will exploit them for funds, or be a welfare recipient. NOthing wrong with families needing a little government help once in awhile but this one deliberately saved up a whole bunch of money and chose to spend it getting 8 fertilized eggs implanted...I'm sure that money could have provided a nice college fund for one or two of her existing children already at home.

Hell, she's nothingmore tha some weirded out "entrenpeneur", using her womb as her own business plan! She is in the middle of her fifteen minutes of fame. She's lining up the interested parties (tabloids, Oprah, ect) to get her big payday.
Those kids ought to be removed from that zoo and she and her doctor should be made to pay the price!! jmo

What I want to know is: Who paid for her fertility doctor? Did he extend credit thinking she could (monetarily) exploit the situation somehow? Or did she save up money ahead or what? Fertility doctors dont work for free ( I assume so anyway, never having dealt with one), and a single mother with no job seems to me like a poor credit risk. Just who paid the upfront costs?

This entire situation is heartbreaking to me. I have three children and one at a time was incredibly difficult, at times I was so exhausted from caring for them I would fall over. I ADORE babies but there is no rational thinking involved here.
I went through fertility treatments and was thinking I was crazy by having two eggs implanted. The treatments did not produce a pregnancy and I ended up concieving naturally a few years later but the cost and emotional strain of going through the treatments was extensive. I can't imagine she could have saved up enough money to do this. It was a struggle for us to pay for the treatments and we both had jobs. It was no shock to this woman that she would have eight babies.
I agree with Chazzy, some people need assistance from time to time, that is why we have a system to help them out but I think it is just wrong to bring children into the world knowing in ADVANCE you won't be able to care for the children. This woman seems to be unstable and having eight babies at one time is going to wear her down to a breaking point.
The news media needs to stop giving this woman press. She's had her fifteen minuts plus of fame and she needs to go take care of those babies!

I have to turn the channel when she pops up for an interview, and all the while wondering why she is out on this stupid media tour instead of being home bonding with her newborns.
She may love her children, but...she is putting herself before her children by doing what she pleases instead of what is best and right.

I'm pretty sure in one of her interviews she said that she had won a fairly hefty lawsuit which she used to fullfill her dream of having many children. To bad she didn't use that money to raise and provide for the ones she already had. Even more sad if you listen to her interviews is that she feels that holding each child for 45 mins is basically fullfilling their needs.

She is supposed to be on Good Morning America this morning in her first "official" interview. I wouldn't watch it even if I hadn't worked all night. She just aggravates me...

I saw her on Good Morning America. When asked about how she plans to provide for them, she said she's writing a book. I can just see, with all of the sensationalism surrounding her, that she will get several million dollars for it. Sounds to me like all of those kids were part of a plan to line her pockets. Sick, sick, sick. jmo

The media is on this "reality" kick. If they would stop feeding into this woman's sick exploitation of these children, then she'd have nothing. And why is the State of California willing to pay for all of these children? They're begging the federal government for money to meet their budget. This is my opinion. The nice doctor who did the invitro should be allowed to pay child support for all of the children that he implanted. He knew when she filled out her "new patient" paperwork that she had no means of supporting them and he did it any way. The way I see it they are his kids as much as they are hers!
ok, I feel better now... she just aggravates me.

I would like to find the person that coined the term"octomom"not to mention,"tot mom"and kick'em in the ass with a steel toed boot.The women have names for fuck sake.
I happen to think she(the mother of octuplets)is very hot.Long dark hair,and those thick lips..
