The headlight signal
The headlight signal...when you pass a cop with his radar trying to catch speeders, do you do the "headlight flash" at the oncoming traffic to warn them?

Re: The headlight signal
Most of the time... Unless they are driving a sportscar or one of those radio boomers, you know the ones where the subwoofer will vibrate your car apart sitting in traffic, they deserve to get pulled over... oh and cell phone users- I have an eagles eye on them...

Re: The headlight signal
ya gotta be real careful to make sure the officer doesn't see you, or that there's not another squad car down the road...when someone is driving with their brite lights on, and you flash them to let them know, you can, and will get a ticket if a cops sees you do it....

It boggles the mind on how someone could see you flash them in oncoming traffic. You'd have to be some kind of contortionist to pull that off. Wouldn't it just be easier to flick the high beams at them?

Re: The headlight signal
I got the "signal" the other day on a stretch of road that usually isn't patroled, I was doing the limit anyway....I don't like speeders much, sorry to say...they can be as bad and as dangerous as drunk drivers.

Re: The headlight signal
I let them do the flashing, not me!
Anyways.... a few years back if someone had their lights off at dusk and you signaled them to turn them on, many don't know this, but in some cases, it was part of a gangs ritual in initiating someone into a gang..... this vehicle would lure people to flash at their vehicle, then proceed with shooting their vehicle, so sad.

I beleive this is a just rumor, it was a feature on a discovery channel show about legends and myths, and can be confirmed as a rumor on mythbusting sites like snopes and truth or fiction.

I watch that show and have seen that episode. I think it's called Urban Legends. That was a legend but the one about the guys streaking through a diner then racing for their car only to see someone steeling it... what a bunch of morons!

Re: The headlight signal
I do recommend checking out those alarmist emails and erumors on sites like I mentioned.
Not only will it keep you from spreading these fantastic rumors and allow you to know which ones are indeed true and which ones are just fictional made up stuff, it's just interesting too, these sites usually give the entire history and orgin of the urban legends and rumors.
