With all due respect, topics like this will get you embroiled in a political argument everytime with other members and you know what will occur then, don't you? The mod squad will descend and then it'll hit the fan!
I think sticking to mundane matters such as "is penis size important" or "would you rather lick it or stick it" would be the safe alternatives.
Take it from someone who's been made to endure a involuntary gender reassignment , courtesy of the mod squad.......

Re: what about the economy
well after a debate with the wife she says there is politics in economics , i had her helping me with that subject way back when, she was doing the work for me i had my hands full with algebra, i had a A+ in the subject thanks to the Mrs. and i had to know what she did i had to pass the tests. the rest of the class would just gawk at me, i sounded just like the instructor and we talk about stuff the whole hour . then i had American institution's which was another great class. but i just don't remember anything about politics in it.... i just didn't take no stock in politics anyway.......

Re: what about the economy
Well, my primary business relies heavily on the scrap steel market. Shortly before the "Stock Market Crash" scrap was around $320 a ton, and right now, its $35 a ton. And considering I generate right around 30 tons a week, that's a major hit for me. It always goes down in value in November and December and starts to rebound in January, but not this bad. Last year, the lowest it reached was $150 a ton. I've had to lay good people off through no fault of their own and it killed me to have to do that!
As for my music business, when people don't have money for simple necessities, the also don't have the money to go out. And when bars and clubs don't have patrons spending money, they don't have the money to pay musicians. My 2 regular gigs canceled me for exactly that reason so I took another $400 a week hit on that. The only job I have lined up at the moment is for New Years Eve, if I don't have to sell all my equipment before that.
So if you see me out front of a soup kitchen playing my guitar and singing for tips, drop coin or 2 into the hat. That is, if you have it!
I just so thank all these financial geniuses that got us all here.
