any KISS fans here?
i was just watching some old vids on utube. i checked out and compared the three drummers that they've had over the years.
i think Peter Criss was the best, back in the days of the original lineup. he had a rougher time, the new guys (Eric Carr and Eric singer) both had the help of electronic drum kits...

Re: any KISS fans here?
Not me, but the hubs is a fan, I've watched a bit of the A&E Channel Gene Simmons's show "Family Jewels"
Not a fan of Gene, I realize that what I'm seeing is mostly just "entertainer's persona"...but he's irritating as hell just the same.

Re: any KISS fans here?
Another thing I can say about them, they not only knew how to make music, they sure knew something about marketing too.

Re: any KISS fans here?
Just saw Gene Simmons on a CNN interview about finance and the stock market....his analogies didn't make allot of sense but I got the gist of what he was saying and it was pretty good financial advice, I'd trust his advice there, the guy is totally obsessed with money and making more of it.

I use to love KISS as well, but agree. Once the paint was off, they were like every other band. I too loved Beth. And I don't like the Family Jewels show, but do like the family jewels.

Re: any KISS fans here?
The band explains that the fans were the ones who ultimately chose their makeup designs. The "Demon" makeup reflected Gene's cynicism and dark elements, as well as his love for comic books. Paul Stanley became the "Starchild" due to his tendency to be referred to as the "starry-eyed lover" and "hopeless romantic." Ace Frehley's "Spaceman" makeup was a reflection of him wanting to go for a ride in a space ship and supposedly being from another planet. Peter Criss' "Catman" makeup was in accordance with the belief that Peter had nine lives due to his rough childhood in Brooklyn.

Re: any KISS fans here?
Hey, allot of cool info! Whatever the reason for doing things the way they did, sure paid off for them, there are thousands of fanatic KISS fans with entire collections off KISS memorabilia and collectables. Probably a good investment really.
