BIG freakin' mistake........
Last weekend, we had a couple of friends over for dinner. That couple consisted of my best friend Jean(divorced from my other best friend Michelle) and his new lady friend (Donna).
On Monday morning, I get an email from Donna, thanking my wife for a wonderful evening. Also included in this email was a paragraph or two about her feeling about Jean, you know, mushy girl/girl stuff!
I thought it would be nice if I were to forward this email to my wife at work. Little did I know that this same email was being forwarded to about 7 other people.....including Jean's ex.
About 5 minutes after I hit the forward button, my wife calls me to say the email was also sent to 7 other people including Michelle. I was told either to FIX IT or risk undergoing gender reassignment with a axe!
For one thing, Michelle still caries a torch for Jean and for another, it seems that Donna has bequeathed a substantial gift on Michelle's estranged 5y/o gran daughter (mother-daughter divorce issues).
I called Michelle and asked her to just delete the forwarded email and not read it but with the original senders name (Donna) on it, my request was taken as a slap in the face, with her wanting to know why I asked her to delete it without revealing what's in the email.
This f*ck up of mine has freakin' snowballed into a major f*ckin' problem! End of the world kinda stuff!!! I've got 5 people mad at me (wife, Michelle, her boyfriend, Jean and Donna). No one is speaking to me. Wow, that's a new experience!
Anybody else been burned by a well meaning gesture only to have it blow up in your face?

Re: BIG freakin' mistake........
Yep. Long story short, a person I decided was too toxic to be friends with was forwarded an email I sent another friend of mine. The toxic friend's father lived in an area Katrina hit hardest and the just of my email was this, "I don't know how her Dad is, here is the last email address I have for her. I have been praying for her father and step mom and hope all is well. Please send her my best, I know from our last exchange she doesn't want to hear from me so I'll just send positive thoughts."
Needless to say I was given the riot act by this person. The way it turned out was that the friend that accidently forwarded the email had been copied on Toxic Girl's response to me, my friend called me an apologized and said, "I am so sorry. I had no clue she could be like that." I just blew it all off, knowing I had made the right decision to keep my solid friendships with postive friends.
Remember, everything in life happens for a reason. Now you just need to figure out what the hell it was all about!!!

Re: BIG freakin' mistake........
First off, VB...geez, you're not only use to stepping in shit, you're wallowing in it most of the time, so I know you'll get through this too!
Secondly, it was just a mistake, unfortunately....you're mistake involved the famous Michele, whom we've all come to know as someone who doesn't exactly like to leave the past in the past. (I'm the kind of person that if I've got someone else in my life, and my ex has someone new in his life, it's either a "so what" or "hey, good for him/them"
What we know about Michele, she is not that kind of person, in short....her problem, she shouldn't really give a shit what her ex is doing and who he is doing it with.
But...yeah, it's hard on friends when a couple break up, some may see any friendship with their ex's as fraternizing with an enemy. That's not your problem.

I just found out that the Jean's (Michelle's ex) new girfriend is now referred to as "Grandma Donna" by Michelle's estranged grandaughter. That is one of the reasons that Michelle is so pissed off and my forwarded email just set her off.

Again, the forwarded email was an email meant for my wife for the first time. Man, I'm still getting the hurt put on me because of my mistake.

Believe me sister, I tried like hell to undo what I did. We finally met for dinner last night and it's forgotten!
I will never again forward anything to anyone, period!
Thank you for understanding!!

Yeh, we met for dinner on Friday and had a blast. We planned a vacation at a nudist camp for the spring! More on that latter......
