is yahoo closing ???
i got sent this and was wondering if it is true or if there is any truth in it at all
Yahoo is shutting down on November 17Th. They want to get rid of free messenger. If you delete this and don't pass it on, your name will be deleted. A lot of people have already been deleted. Right click on the group name of your buddy list and click, Send Instant Message to All in Group.. This is Yahoo President Anna Rubenecia, I am sorry to announce that Yahoo has reached its maximum number of accounts two million. If you would like to keep your account for free send this to everyone on your list. This way we can know which accounts are being used and which accounts we can delete. Send this within 8 days

don't trust it, i got some thing similar about a year ago, and it said that i had to confirm my username/password...the very next day, i couldn't get logged in, and i ended up getting my yahoo id stolen...no personal info was taken though, however, EVERY one of my contacts started getting weird emails from me, saying that i was stuck in Nigeria and i needed them to send $1500...

good old yahoo the land of spam don't believe it . old Nigeria over they they had a thing on the history Chan one night i watch , it boiled down to some black barrister , with i think is a lawyer and some whit chic from down under were stealing credit cards and buying stuff on line , big buck items too and then they find some one to ship it to them , they set them up with some cash they wanted in a hotel room over seas and couldn't get them arrested because there were no laws for what they were doing......i got a good laugh one night over it.
as for yahoo i get near 6 or 7 hundred pieces of junki email every day and I'm being spam-ed from 11 11 2038 to 1908 it make it hard to check your email i just delete it all

Ty, i know it not true my friend got sent the same thing a few times, i did not believe it in the first place but was just making sure

This rumor has also been spread about AOL, I use sites like snopes or truthorfiction to verify or debunk rumors.

No IM company is going to have to send a chain letter to inform people about their services being shut down. Delete and ignore.
Truth is, if they were going to shut down, they would just do it without any real warning, but that will never happen. Any company like that in financial trouble will be quickly snatched up by another company and the services will survive (although probably modified and have some features turned into "Premium" or "Gold" memberships that you have to pay for).
