Guidance
Reading the 'FUCK' thread got me wondering on this. For parents or anyone that has been around children or is/was/am a role model to young 'uns. What I want to know is if you do not use any bad words at all for them not to talk like that, ever. Or do you occasionally 'slip' and they hear it time to time but know its not a word to be used? Are you one of those parents/role models that even when they're old enough to know better, you don't like them using it on occasion, or are you okay with it?
Whats your take on it?

Re: Guidance
I've tried to teach my kids that cussing is out of place in most social situations, and to avoid habitually talking that way. I scold them for cussing in the house, but dont make a big deal about it out in the barn. That said, I've slipped, and they've heard me.

Re: Guidance
I can't say I don't curse because that would make me dishonest...I try to keep it very low key. I always told my oldest son that cussing was, in my opinion, for those who lacked a vocabulary extensive enough to find words to replace the bad ones in a social setting.
Now, when I am out with my girlfriends having a few drinks the terms "No fucking way" or "Absofuckinglutely" or "No, she did not fucking say that" do come out of my mouth. There are some times when only the word "fuck" will do!!!
Cursing should be reserved for those over fifteen or sixteen and with the right social guidance shouldn't be used in a defamitory way (you fucking bitch) because there are so many better words to get your point across. "That was fucking awesome." is an example of the correct way...LOL...the way to clue them in on when to say it would be...not in church, not around authority figures, not in a setting that includes little kids, etc.
Oh, and do not forget the best way to use the "f" word...during..."Yeah, baby, that is the way to fuck me !!!"

Re: Guidance
I behave in a way that is appropriate to the place and the people I am in contact with....oh yes, I can cuss a blue streak, but I can control when and what I say.
