Contrary to Popular Belief
How do you THINK with beliefs, your beliefs, what the beliefs of others are and tell you? Do you think black and white, no gray matter, outside the box, naive, one-way, etc., just curious?

Re: Contrary to Popular Belief
I love hearing other opposite beliefs from others, I like listening and discussing, but not arguing about it. I know I don't appreciate anyone telling me I'm wrong about what I choose to belief, don't wanna do the same to others.
We mold our beliefs with every step in our lives, there is no right or wrong, just differences.
Some things are black and white...yes, it's wrong to murder, but when you get to the "Is it ever right to kill..." Then that's a huge gray area.
In the gray area, I personally beleive that it's a matter of individual cases, consideration for all factors and forming my opinion on one thing, and being able to fully think everything over again and form yet another opinion for another issue, even if it's similiar to the previous one. I belelive to always have an open mind, and be prepared to accept new information and ideas and possible change my own beliefs sometimes.

Re: Contrary to Popular Belief
Sad thing is some can't be arsed to give their own opinion anymore, which mught be a good thing, as the truth might just be too much to handle for some, oh there you go, thats my opinion/belief

Re: Contrary to Popular Belief
I think sometimes comments are made that people think others are not clever enough to understand what is meant by them, and that is what irritates some people. And as grown ups we rise above the childishness of it. But that is what is stopping so many of the great members from being here right now, and that is so sad.

Re: Contrary to Popular Belief
I think just about everything is varying shades of gray, but civilization requires that we agree that certain areas of life have to be treated as black-and-white in order for society to function peacefully. Its the disagreement about which areas have to be treated that way that causes the most trouble.

Re: Contrary to Popular Belief
Okey Dokey dear, I know that being online as much as I am, "oversaturation" can happen, I do try to be a part of things but .....as I said, I sure don't want to oversaturate the site with my prescense. I want to see that variety.
When I see others jumping in, I like to back off and let 'em run with it! I enjoy that.
Pardon my off topic moment please!

Exactly..... I totally agree!! For example, define the word 'Normal' what is normal for one individual is and not normal for someone else, we are all unique and different (no 2 people are the same) that's what makes the world go round.

Re: Contrary to Popular Belief
"Normal" is a big gray area, normal to what? Normal to one's enviromental upbringing, faith, culture, gender, age, etc...
Something can be "normal for a insane person."
It can be normal for a person suffering from bi-polar to have extreme mood swings, a decade or so ago, bi-polar wasn't so normal, but now it's a pretty common diagnosis and it can be quite normal or abnormal for a mentally healthy person to have bad moods.
There is only what is "normal" for each individual, but that doesn't mean that what is "normal" for them, is textbook normal at all.
