"Girls Gone Wild" (Joseph R. Francis)
Joseph R. Francis, the man behind the enterprise of the "Girls Gone Wild" series.
What do you think of him and his business? Is it brilliant or tasteless, is he a genius entrepreneur or cold opportunist?
Considering that the girls in the series of videos are of legal age and did sign a release form, is it in your mind right or wrong, legally it may be right, but laws vary...maybe it's not so legal to encourage drunk young women to do something they may or may not regret later.
Is it alright for to take his crew and cameras to places where they know girls are "under the influence" and tape them even though at the time, their judgment may be impaired? Is it just good harmless fun?
Who hasn't at 18 or so...woke up hungover with flashbacks from the previous nights party followed by "Oh no, did I really do(say)that?"
Maybe a "cool off" time would be fair, that way when a party girl could have some sober time to say..."Maybe I shouldn't allow that footage to be released"
On one hand, it's legal..and hey, it's a fact of life that when you get "partied up" you're likely to do things you ordinarily wouldn't do....and on the other hand, it's kinda like predatory behavior to seek out the drunk and young.

Yeah, that's for sure! Brillant idea, but hell, you know allot of those girls are drunk or buzzed up and I'm sure some regret their judgement at the time, and some will later on.
Gawd, I know I'm soooo happy there weren't allot of video cameras around when I was their age......

Legal? Yes, but it has to be regarded (in my opinion)as predatory to take advantage of (relatively) young kids when they are chemically impaired, Not to mention lacking in "good taste". Yes, those girls are (or should be) old enough to know what they're doing, and have to live with their own decisions, but I think Mr Francis could probably find enough "models" or "actresses" without preying on drunken college kids. And, of course, we the consumers, can find plenty of images of naked young women without patronising Mr. Francis's business. There, am I a prude now?

I never thought of that ash, that there may be "incentive" or "provoking" methods behind his success with getting these girls to do what they do, other than the "drunk as a rat" factor.

Just picked up on this story while browsing online news.
*********************************
Watch out Hooters: The creator of the video series "Girls Gone Wild" has cooked up what he thinks is another hot idea: A chain of restaurants based on the raunchy party-girl brand.
According to the Los Angeles Business Journal, soft-core sleaze peddler Joe Francis plans to open two "Girls Gone Wild" theme restaurants this summer in the highly predictable spring-break capitals of Cabo San Lucas and Cancun in Mexico.
