How vast in your internet universe?
Do you just come here, and hang out, or do you have several windows open at once, surfing, visiting other sites, and hanging out here?
I usually have at least 6 other windows open, sometimes up to ten or twelve, I like to read current events, online newspapers, hang out in other forums (not adult personals ) google up everything that crosses my mind, I've got some other browsing sites that always have some really interesting submitted stuff on them. Sometimes I seek out somthing cute, or one of my favorite humor sites (foamy the squirrel!!!)
I like a wide open world....seeking new stuff, visiting familiar places....I like to think it keeps me balanced and stimulated.
(Still gotta check out nerdcords, calcol!!!)

I comparison shop allot online, get owner's manuals for the cars and house appliances, I've got one bookmark folder labeled "Fun Stuff"....just humor sites.
Geneaology, like to check up on the forums on those sites, look up old records, archived newspapers,
(Okay, I'll confess....sometimes I'm online for a half an hour before I realize I don't even have a window open and logged into here....I just get a bit sidetracked and waylaid sometimes)

I try to limit it to only four or five windows open, one (sometimes two) games, only three IM programs which usually leads to about 7-8 ongoing convos, at the most 5 active downloads.
Also, the TV is usually on in the background.
Oh, this is all going on when I'm barely using the computer, when I do my photo editing, I usually have to use a second monitor to handle all the stuff up.

same for us here too and as fast as dialup lets me no dsl or anything out in the sticks unless ya have a dish

The hubs just has his couple of favorite porn clip sites, he's not online much so he just has a site or two that he hangs out on....I think that's the way it is with some that don't spend much time online.
I like to keep the "history" open on the left side of my browser...so I can revisit something I ran across earlier in the day, days before, or even weeks before.
I use to visit one site with forums, but I swear, there were quite a few there that I'm sure never ever left the site! They were there 24/7, on top of every new post in less than a split second, no way they had anything else going on...so I'm guessing that some people just concentrate on one or two favorite sites.
Ashcats, yep...since we hooked up with the highass speed DSL, I do spend more time online now...and I'm with Mooant, I could use a second seperate monitor for document and photo programs sometimes...

I don't do the IM thing....don't even have any IM programs on my computer, I do email but no IM...Do some webcam on the hubs computer just to talk to loved ones far away, it's nice to see and hear them in real time instead of just a phone call or email.

I IM with my new man as it would cost a fortune on the phone the amount of time we talk!! lol
And i do with friends aswell. I have internet programmes for work open and IM chats open at the same time, sometimes, i do start getting confused at what i'm doing and who i'm talking too!!!

sending you a site where you can earn free phone minutes, I've used it allot when I didn't have any long distance carrier....then you and your man can talk on the phone once in awhile.
Ahhh....I love morning coffee time with my computer, got seven windows open, just sipping and reading....
I think the IM thing is cool for people to talk while browsing the net together.
