Sheltered--Un-sheltered Life/Lifestyle?
Has your life entailed a unexposed/sheltered or an exposed/un-sheltered life/lifestyle? Have there been any changes through the years with it being sheltered or un-sheltered?

Re: Sheltered--Un-sheltered Life/Lifestyle?
it started out fairly unsheltered... moved around quite a bit, spent a good portion of my childhood either out near Seattle or here in south dakota. in town, on an island, on a dairy farm, in little towns, various cultures, etc etc etc....
lately its been pretty sheltered, just not a lot of "worldly" happenings in south dakota.

When I was young it was sheltered - so sheltered I pushed back hard, as many children do.
Now I am in charge and open to anything

I was pretty sheltered when I was young. I've since more than made up for that. Having the opportunities to do what I wanted whithout too many legal reprecussions.

As much as I have been "out and about" growing up, deep down I've been pretty well sheltered. Think I'm a bit more prepared for the outer world with my outer self if that makes sense. But deep down, emotionally, I feel that I been failed to take on the real world. So.... I'd say sheltered.

Re: Sheltered--Un-sheltered Life/Lifestyle?
I was very sheltered growing up. I was the typical child of a upper middle class home, car at sixteen, credit cards and church on Sundays with the family. I wouldn't say I was a rebel but in my family I was definately the wildest, by comparison to two sisters that married as virgins. I was the adventurer and not really concerned about getting on a plane and traveling to a city I don't know alone. I recognize the world to be hard as I married someone that showed me that road. Growing up my feelings were sheltered and then I got a cold, hard slap in the face of reality.

About the same way it went for me that you said, only without the credit cards. All i had to do really was say, I liked this, and most of the time, I got it. Being my parents are divorced, and was with my maternal side of the family when i was home from school, i got away with murder it seemed. Then being the only girl out of the four, I was the rebel one. I didn't want to do things that was expected and such. I was the first to get a tattoo in the family and that just irked my mother. Her little 'lady' was in the ruins, basically. I grew up a tomboy (still am i guess for most part, lol) and I do remember times where she would say to me, "why not write like your friends" or "why not dress like her" "Why not do this or that like them?"
Anyways... yeah.
