Before, I would've said materialistic. But have learned over time that is selfish and in the last couple years, I've learned its what's behind the reason of getting it. I've been known to make someone feel like crap when I had gotten a gift for V day once, and i've come to appreciate it because I have it where I see it everyday knowing that its not what I've gotten but what was given from deep down within.
The only downside for me on that was I didn't get to see their face when opening a book I made.
Anyways... I've learned a lot from a gift and to this day cherish that because it taught me a lesson.
