What food delicacies are in your corner of the World?
Since all of us come from different walks of life-- what one might consider certain foods to be normal others might consider them strange. What foods do you consider a delicacy, and have tried?

I've tried, but won't eat it again.. deer, quail, goat, croc, tripe, heart, escargot, rabbit, eel, tongue.

what? deer is very close if not the best meat there is in my opinion... must have been the cook... or someones old skanky buck they shot for the antlers or something!!
the only thing i've tried that isnt normal menu and dont care if I ever try again is bear. just didnt care for it plus it was greasy meat if that makes sense.

LOL, I'll cook and prepare any kind of meat for anyone, but I won't eat it, period!! and don't tell me it's chicken!!

i have tried deer, tongue, ostrich, kangaroo, quails eggs, loved them all, i tried some kind of eel once, not so keen on that

I've tried Shark, squid, snails (ALL yuk), Oxtail (Which i like), Pigs trotter (Yuk), Venison, Veal, Tried most things. Some i wouldn't eat again

I love tripe, escargots, squid, sharks fin soup, jelly fish, pigs feet, duck, chicken feet, sea cucumber, birds nest soup

i tried ostrich jerky once, at a county fair...i couldn't tell you how it tasted...it was sooo tough...like eating shoe leather...the flavor might been alright, if i woulda been able to get a good bite, without breaking my teeth...

deer gets gamey after a year or so and bear no thanks tastes like greasy cotton, and the worse they have up here is pickled fish ... i can pass on that oh and head chezze too

we use northern pike raw and pickle it like pickles, its about one of the few things ya can do with pike other then grind it up and make patties and bread them with shore lunch ,ya can do suckers too...they are really nastie.
oh smoked bullheads go good too up here lol

That pickled pike is probably real similar to that good old Scandihoovian treat, pickled herring.
