You are so good at making it brief...
Freedom to me is making my own choices without having to answer to anything but my higher power.

Re: Freedom
If we had a constitution in the UK we could have an amendment guaranteeing free speech...
Still, getting banned will be a small price to pay to get a spanking from HBG!

You can talk political all you want, just not here!
Free speech is a civil right, any website owner also has rights to make rules on his own site.
Let me know when you get your site up and running, I'll come talk politics, religion, philsophy and my personal favoarite...ethics...

Well, if you want to talk ethics you need HBG because that's where she lives...
Personally, I regard freedom and free speech as a fundamental characteristic rather than a disposal item to be cast aside when inconvenient. The recent UK Governments have been deplorable in this regard. Benjamin Franklin sums it up perfectly:
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security.

Re: Freedom
I consider myself to have complete freedom of speech, I don't mind following rules or using good manners and common sense either.
I don't cus a fit in church, talk vulgarity or sex around children or others who may take offense, I don't discuss politics with people, family or friends...cuz that's too personal and may cause problems, I choose not to discuss everything anytime I want, anywhere I want... I make my choice about what to say and where to say it, I have that choice so I do feel I have freedom of speech.
Sure we have freedom of speech in this country, but...it's like this...if you walk through my door, and enter my house and start going off on stuff that I don't want to hear, that I find offensive to me,....I have the right to kick your ass back on out the door...this is absix's house, he has the right to decide the rules.
If I want to discuss controversy, I know where to go for that, I do love the ethics thing though, love discussions of ethics...some appropriate for this site, some are not.
I'm married, but I know I have the freedom to keep or break those vows, I know the rules of the road, the laws, I can break them or follow them. same for manners....but I also know there can and probably will be consequences for the actions I choose. I still feel I have the freedom to make these choices.
