Re: diet
Drink grapefruit juice before every meal. Helps burn the fat, or a large glass of water, as it will fill you up, so you feel less hungry.

Re: diet
Be consistent on a daily basis with eating at the same times and exercising.
No eating between meals.
Nothing to eat five hours prior to bed time.
Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily.
Green tea, a powerful anti-oxidant increases metabolism and helps burn fat.
Probiotics detoxify the intestinal tract, increasing metabolism
Low carbs/low sugars
Chicken, Fish, Beef
Veggies/light on the fruits
Smaller portion sizes

Re: diet
well what i have been doing is no fried foods, no cakes and biscuits or candy, etc, no processed foods(ready meals, etc)no alcohol.
i just been having a wholewheat cereal for breakfast(shredded wheat with 250 ml's semi skimmed milk) that lasts me till evening when i have my supper, just been having fish or chicken with rice or pasta or now and then potatoes, Green lentils or fresh beans(the kind you get in backed beans)or kidney beans and lots & lots of veg or salad and plenty of water, been on that for about 7 weeks i think and have lost 25 pounds in weight so far, i feel so much better, more fitter and more energy, sleeping better.
oh and plenty of exercises, i got an exercise bike and do 15 mins on it before breakfast everyday and been trying to do 5 mins at night after supper, i walk to work every day and home at night, i walk to most places unless it is too far to walk to.

Re: diet
I think the business about not eating close to bed time is an old wives' tale. If you are taking in more energy than you are burning, then you are going to gain no matter when you eat. On the other hand if you are expending more energy than you take in, you'll lose, regardless of when you eat. All this happens cumulatively over time, not just in 24 hour periods.

Just my opinion, personally I think it all depends on the individual from lifestyle, to metabolism, to any medical conditions they may have, and medications they might be taking, with the five hours of not eating prior to going to sleep.

Good for you. I have recently started a plan too. I had stalled out so I had to up my cario workouts so I have moved from walking forty-five minutes a day to interval walk/run. You run for thirty seconds, you walk for thirty seconds. So far I do a warm up of five brisk walking minutes, then proceed to the walk run part of the session for twenty minutes, then I do a brisk walk for five minutes to cool down. The key is to keep your heart rate up while you are working out. The optimum rate is between 130 to 159, anything over 160 starts to burn muscle. The running is a bitch at times but I feel great throughout the day if I do it. I rise early, workout and crash hard at the end of the day.
Eating right is 70% of your success. I eat in moderation and do alot more vegetables and fruit. Another key is to cut out processed foods and foods laden with salt...salt keeps the water weight on and it also makes your blood pressure rise over time.

to be honest it was easy for me, i think i was just in the right frame of mind when i decided to go on it, the reason being when you buy a couple of shirts and they don't fit you, i suppose you need willpower too, i feel great and the health benefits are good too, i am a diabetic and i have reduced my insulin dose's by at least 75% & my sugar levels have improved beyond belief, so it is a win, win situation for me

Re: diet
I know this sounds like old hack! But, it's what all the
diet and nutrition companies would rather the consumer not
know! The secret too losing weight is too increase your
metabolic rate! Eat, Eat, Eat, at least five small meals a
day accompanied with water consumption, you can lose the
initial bad water weight in a week, 7 to 8lbs, just water
weight alone! Eating, every 2 to 3 hours, increases your metabolic rate by 75 percent! Coupled with a moderate
exercise routine and a reasonable weight loss
goal, the pounds will waste away! Walking is the best,
non-strenuous, start with one block, and increase every
week! Try this, it works! Do not under any circumstances
deprive yourself of foods you enjoy, just moderate your
portions. Deprivation, will lead too bingeing! Then you'll
have too start all over again! I came in late on this one, but, I hope this might help someone else create a success
story!
