that's probably where you got your cold...you shoulda run me over before infected you...since this is a fishing thread, the Le Sueur river is a good fishing river, if you like carp and catfish that you can't eat....

Oh, he's probably doing the real manly kind of fishing, "Noodling", where ya get yourself in the murky waters feeling around for a hole waiting for a fish to lurch, once the fish lurks, you grab it with your hand, and it sinks it's teeth into your hand. No way would I "Noodle"!

It's called hogging here, not looked upon well, it means grabbing the mother (usually catfish) fish off her nest, usually this is how they get the monster big catfish...not a conservation minded activity but I know some that do this...

I used to love going fishing when i was young with my dad. We used to go, fresh water, sea, and eel fishing.

I use to fish often whn 18 but quit as i could sit in a/c and get drunk. Never caught any fish anyway.--hehe

I love going fishing, been many years now. When I'd go fishing with my Dad I felt like Opie stringing my pole around, and was so proud when I caught my first fish!

heard they came in some ships ballast water when they dumped it .like the zebra mussels and the lampreys.back in the 70s it was beaches full of dead alewife's that's why they put the Salmon in the lakes to eat them
we were up in bessemer once seen a boat load of whitefish come ashore all packed in ice they had there limit...and it a strange lookning fish...

I'm now officially on vacation 
As of Monday I can start some serious fishing
I'm not sure what's in store for tomorrow, it's my sons 8'Th Birthday so he gets to set the itinerary

As amazing as it seems just a short ways up from the falls the river is actually quite calm. We watch the deer and other wildlife swim across to an Island pretty regularly.

LOL nope no buffalo sitings yet
I have seen some strange things on the river though this year. Just a short time back three canadians were jet skiing in the lower when they were knocked off of them. One made it back to shore on the canadian side. The other two were pulled from the river by one of the jetboat tour boats. One of the guys was unconcious and the other trying to help him out.
Once they got to shore the HLS took the one to the hospital and the other to jail for illegaly landing in the US. The other followed him as soon as he was released from the hospital. Both of them spent a few days in there before they were released.
