windows xp and the new update service pack 3
anyone else having strange problem ms since installing it?
seem a lot of thing wont start and run lol

I can't get it to install on my Media Centre box. I had assumed it was because my copy of XP is, er... borrowed

What won't start and run? Software, programs or peripherals, things like printers, mouse, key board, etc...?

In my case the service pack jut won't install. Winows runs just fine, but SP3 crashes out when I try to install it.

half the stuff in this thing, yahoo mess or msn half the things under control panel,,,,quick launch next to start. my son told me i need to repair windows and is sending me a disk . guess i messed it up trying to remove the viruses from aff that i had......Trojan bad_web_sites and two others bunch of spy ware and some reg errors.. i must of messed it up...lol

Ashkats, I always, always ask for recovery disks when purchasing a new computer. I've heard from others, they never recieved them with theirs.

ticad my son lives over your way now between Cleveland and the state line, we went to Buffalo once to see the falls really like the area... 
but he relocated and hes a programmer and my consultant
i was sure glad to get ride of windows 2k server lol

I have a laptop computer that I only use for school and after the update to service pack 3 it crashed hard. Thank goodness it's still under warranty

my son said he picked it up from me ticad from back in the days of commode Vic 20/64 and apple2c and e, lol, we picked up a book with all these codes in it spend days typing line but that were he got his interest in what he does....
kinky i got the Mrs a laptop too and again it came all programed and no disk i got it at Wall mart made by Compaq and hp, kinda remember sending for the disk and never got them too
