Motorcycle Accident (updated)
First, we're both alive. That's the important thing.
Warren and I were involved in a motorcycle accident last night. We were travelling south on a road and a man turned in front of us from the northbound lane. Warren hit the brakes but there was no avoiding it.
I am ok. Got bumps, bruises and 5 staples in my head, no broken bones, just very very sore all over.
Warren has several broken ribs, a punctured lung, a broken cheekbone and jaw, a separated pelvis and broken shoulderblade, but he's alive.
Keep us in our prayers, y'all. The guy who caused the accident git cited with it and will be sued, but our beloved Bloo is gone. bent in half. Warren will have surgery tomorrow for his cheekbone and jaw.

Re: Motorcycle Accident
So sorry about your accident Pepper. Very glad though that you were able to walk away from it. Hope that when you both recover that you will still be able to enjoy cycling. We got rid of ours after the hubs had his wreck. He wanted to ride again and tried but realized that it was to painful. Really hurt his shoulders and back. We do however still have our scoots, Yamaha Vino 125's, and enjoy riding them together. Keep us posted hon.

Re: Motorcycle Accident (Updated)
Warren had the surgery to wire his jaw shut this afternoon. He came through it ok, but is being kept sedated because he is to undergo an MRI tomorrow and possible pelvic surgery and they could not take the breathing tube out of his nose and replace it, so it was decided to keep him sedated until after those procedures tomorrow.
Thanks everyone, We love you all,
Pepper

Im sure he'll come through fine. And you already know, you have all of your friends here that are praying for you, and him. Thankfully, youre ok so that you can be strong for him.Its a horrible thing that happened, but like your first line, you said "we're both still alive" and thats what matters the most. Take care and be strong. We're behind you 1000%

Re: Motorcycle Accident (updated)
Cantankerous is the word of the day, lol, actually, the word of the the past couple of days. He's better and wants to come home--it's all he talks about, of course.
They got him up yesterday and walking to see if he could. He did fine, said at first he thought he'd forgotten how to walk, but it came back to him in a couple of minutes.
He still has the chest tube in--they do a chest x-ray every morning to see if his lung is inflated enough to remove it, and it is getting better.
He just has no patience, lol, not that I really expect him to, but he needs some and can't or won't understand that if he wants to avoid going back into the hospital for a longer stay later, then he needs to stay as long as necessary now.
I'm ok, going to a spinal doctor next week to assess nerve and tendon damage in my neck and shoulder because sometimes everything works ok, with just a twinge and sometimes I can't turn my neck or lift my arm without a lot of pain.
We just have a lot of $$ worries right now. but that's the way of it, now isn't it?

Re: Motorcycle Accident (updated)
Hello everyone, it has been a while since I've made an appearance but sometimes when bad things happen to our friends it is a good time to show our support.
I just talked to our dear friend Pepper for a while on the phone and she's doing fairly well. She and Warren have a long road ahead of them and we need to do what we do best around here, love them through it. I've always said when Absix created this site he created a community...a horny one but none the less almost like a family.
Warren's chest tube was removed this afternoon and he was so relieved to have had that done. Our brave Pepper is so incredibly strong and while she is being brave I know in my heart she is still very concerned. Warren has been up and walking around, going to the bathroom and giving everyone hell yesterday. He seems to be a little more settled today and his road burn has already shown a great deal of improvement. Pepper said, "With that man's jaw wired shut, it is AMAZING how well he can TALK!"
I remember the love and support you all gave to me while I was going through the illness of my Mom and I want you to all know how much it meant to me...let us continue to rally around Pepper and her Warren and show them the same love. They have alot to contend with right now and need all the prayers and positive thoughts we can send their way.
Warren is already thinking about buying his next bike...
Hugs and love from me to all of you!
Jules

Good news Jules! Really glad to see you again! And Pepper and Warren it's great news both of you are doing better. I keep having these images flash through my mind of what the accident must have been like. Too much reality TV I guess! Anyway I am so glade your both are on the mend.
I've kicked around getting a bike for sometime know but reality like this keeps me away. For know I'll just keep looking and enjoying them. Anyway my champagne taste / beer budget keeps me off um anyway!
Love you guys!

Thank you Jesse, I've missed everyone here too.
I just heard from Pepper and Warren is being released TODAY! She said if he keeps up the high spirits she may lose her sanity. I told her I'd lost mine years ago and she'd be in good company...I also told her to tell him to be good or I'd come for a visit and HELP her take care of him...he'd be wishing they kept his silly self in the hospital!
How great is this news!!!

We are so glad to see there has been such an incredible improvement that Warren is able to be released.
We have been thinking of you and hope the recovery time will not be too difficult on you physically or mentally. It sounds like if Warren isn't careful he is going to have two strong willed women on his hands to deal with. Warren, heed the warning! Something tells me you'd be ganged up on and not in the way that would put a smile on your face.

Re: Motorcycle Accident (updated)
I talked to Pepper yesterday and she said they were doing pretty well. Warren is keeping her busy and she seemed upbeat and chipper. Pepper saw the doctor and he was able to give her some medication to help with the headache she has had since the accident. From what I could tell their spirits are good but there is still a ways to go for them to recover. Warren's cracked pelvis is probably going to be one of the hardest parts of the recovery.
Definately keep them in your prayers.
