Relationships
Is it just me, or what? I'm scared to death of getting into a relationship, maybe that sounds silly, but it's the truth!

Re: Relationships
Not really. I know that I think a realtionship would be nice. I'm concerned about that trapped feeling and hurting someone or getting hurt again. Then there's the why should she give up her life where she is question.

Re: Relationships
Life is too short to be scared, you will know when the right one comes along, and it will hit you like a ton of bricks!!!
When it does, go with the flow and just be happy and enjoy it. You both may need to make changes, but if it's what you both want, you will make it work.
Something very strange has happened to me, it's made me very happy, and i'm going with the flow!!!

I've heard all the sayings. Have yet to see one that's close to acurate.

Re: Relationships
Life being short isn't a saying, its a reality, and we can either waste it worrying about what if's and being scared to take a chance, or we can live it and make the most of it!!!
We've all been hurt, but we can either let those people continue to ruin the rest of our lives, or we can pick ourselves up and say to hell with it and make the most of living and enjoying ourselves

Yesterday is history, from which you can learn.
Today is here to apply those lessons.
Tomorrow is the reward for doing the above.

Re: Relationships
Relationships are hard, they take a lot of work. It is kind of scary to put your trust in someone - someone you know will hurt you. There isn't any way for someone to have your heart and not bruise it, even if they didn't mean to.
At 20 if I wasn't happy in a relationship, I left or he left.
Now at 41, I realize that it isn't about him making me happy, it is whether we are willing to keep trying even if we aren't happy.
I just finished reading a book called "Men are like waffles and women are like speghetti" and even though it doesn't give all the answers it does answer some questions on why "he is like that" and what a couple can do to work with the wonderful differences between them.

Hun, i don't want to tell you how you should feel, but there are people out there, who won't break your heart or bruise it. You need to believe in them people, there are some kind, caring and wonderful people out there

Re: Relationships
Relationships require alot of patience, time, and effort. I do believe that it's a matter of timing, on both party's to develop the trust, and bond. Communication, honesty, and compassion are three major elements in establishing any form of relationship on any level of friendship . I also believe there are times where these relationships have to sit on the back burners for awhile in order for the other to find solstice within themselves from past relationships they've been in. There could be a time when possibly down the road it could spark again, but only time will tell.

Re: Relationships
If we didn't have our baggage we wouldn't be the people we are today, and wouldn't be able to be united together sharing all of life, it's mysteries, and love it carries with and for each other. That's the beauty of being human, forgive, and love everyone, life is too short!

Re: Relationships
I love, I forgive...but that doesn't mean I still don't have the free choice to be anyone's doormat or not, that's for sure...I can love and forgive from a distance just fine.

I have been in a loving relationship for 34 years on the 20th of this month. Yes, we have had our ups and downs but I don't know of any relationship that doesn't. I am blessed with a wonderful hubby.

That's great Irishwoman, in this day and age the percentage of having a loving relationship to me are very far and few between. I'm going on 15 years now being divorced, not even sure how I feel about having a relationship, never let alone the 'M' word. I'm letting the world go around me right now, not looking, worried nor rushing into anything with anyone, and currently I don't have anyone in my life.
