How about Burger Chef? It was a semi-chain burger outfit up here in New England. 10 burgers for $.99!! They were pretty nasty but 10 for $.99........?

Some of the southern states use to have Burger Queens. I remember White Castles and have a friend in MT that likes those a lot!

I'm not sure if it's the same chain, but there were a few Burger Chef joints here in Mn, but they all ended up becoming Hardee's...I used to LOVE Hardee's...i worked in a couple for many years.

I do remember (and it's still there) this great place called "Motts" it had the best greasy sliders, full of onions and melted cheese down the sides, wrapped in that white paper that grease melted into. Man those were so good.

Bubbles, do you have any form of fast-food restaurants besides the international famous chains, little Mom and Pop style quickies? How about Diner's, those 'greasy spoon joints'?

These are small Mom and Pop hamburger restuants. They are usually in out of the way places, and where slightly run down.

I do remember going to Missouri and we stopped at this one place that looked like the burger grease was running down the walls. But OMG, they had the best food.

Now that's my kind of joint. Haven't seen a jukebox at the table side for decades.

It's a really cool place, all old pictures of American actors on the walls, the silver stand up napkin holders, stools at the counters, tables you have to slide into, just like in the movies!!!

Re: old time greasy hamburger places, what ones do u remember?
all this makes me remember high school and the cafeteria, the hamburgers we got there ya wonder if it was even meat, the rummer was soybean and ya had to put a ton of salt on them but they were good....and the fries ya have to stab them with a fork to eat em and they had a milkshake they gave ya in a Styrofoam cup so light and fluffy you could turn it upside down and shake it and it would stay in there and not spill out.
now we have to go to a local bar to get burgers in a basket on white paper with fries and a drink

"Bellybuster burgers". Fly's and grimy, greasy tables aren't seen as a health risk through kids eyes.
