I didn't make this rule, this rule has been here for over four years,
Four years ago, that means the no politics rule came about during the LAST ELECETION YEAR!!!!!

Thank you all for understanding, I so appreciate it.
Sometimes, as you all probably know, it may not even be the actual topic that causes a powder keg to blow up here, but just the mere hint or mention of a candidate that will escalate quickly into people who are other wise friends, end up on opposite sides of the fence, and create some bad history that will linger...we'd rather see you all enjoy yourselves, get along, take care of each other, respect each other as you do already.
People can be very passionate about thier candidates, their party affiliations, their political beleifs and none of us can really expect people not to be offensive or defensive about all that, especially during an election year. That's why even the hint or a mention cannot be allowed now, ya'all know how it goes...one thing leads to another and bam...we've got some hatin' going on and then it carries over to unrelated threads and I hope we can all agree...this would be a bad thing.
That's why it's important to all of us, that we not even mention such things, or people here, right now...allot of us were here four years ago and we can all tell you, it would be just crazy to allow the same mistake to happen all over again...plum crazy I tell ya!
Sorry for the harshness about it all, but it is that important and I can't even begin to tell you how appreciative we are to those who have shown us all their understanding in this matter.
Hey, follow your hearts and minds, explore the issues and options ....go vote and be proud...just don't come in here and talk about it!

I hadn't had any complaints about any negativity with this thread, I asked FLP to help keep it front page for a bit, it's an election year, and new people join every day, flp had to delete a political post just the other day from a new member.
It will occasionally be bumping back up on the front page, just because it's an election year and we want to make sure any noobs do run across it before posting anything political.
As far as setting it "sticky"....it would be stuck at the very top of the page and get overlooked more so than an occasional bump up where it will appear as a thread with a new post...just make it stand out more.
Most of ya'all have read it, ya'all know what it's about, you know what's up already...so bumping it up like we are doing is just a good way to try to make sure most noobs do see it.

I don't know how it is in other countries, but here it's pure freakin' hell...tons of TV ads (equal time during each commercial break) of mudslinging, propaganda, and sure, they may even through in a few good points or facts.
Our landscape is covered in billboards, and even residents post election signs all over their yards, not just presidential, but local and state ads, signs, bumperstickers and billboards.
It's a constant barrage every day, every minute of who said what, whats in who's past, who's family member said or did whatever, like debates among panels, every minute is a big screaming headache of an agurment, and it's all inescapable for us here...
Election time here is gawd awful time, people eat, breathe and think of nothing else, and rarely ever, will a discussion stay a discussion, you can count on it being a fight or argument.
I don't know how it is in other countries, but here...it's rammed down your throat, it infests every minute of you life, till ya just wanna puke...ya just want it to hurry up and end.

Okay, somewhere on page one or two, I did explain why it's not a sticky thread, and that I did ask FLP to help me keep it bumped up for a little while cuz it's an election year and Noobs not reading over the forum rules and are giving us the need to explain and delete their political posts. I think all the regs here understand, we bumped it up for a little while mainly for the noobs
I'm cool if this thread drops off now, and we can bump it back up if and when the need arises.
Now ....if anyone is wondering why JCSOS keeps bumping it up....ask him....cuz I don't know.
