I'm feeling soooooooo PROUD! My daughter tried out for all district last Saturday and made 1st chair (trombone)!!! Can't wait for the concert this weekend!

Gawd, I'm so sorry to hear that....the hubs has been whining about not getting the full bonus from work at one time, (they want to break it up over two months) I keep telling him to just be grateful, these are very tough times.

Sorry to hear that Ma My dad was laid off a few weeks ago and my parents are worried about the christmas for the kids. However when my son heard about this he said that he'd rather have something made by them then something store bought.
I know it doesn't help out but I just thought it was a touching gesture on his part

I know what you are talking about. My dad does wood working and has made some awesome things. We keep telling him that he could just make something for the kids or even us. But he seems to have the same thoughts that it needs to be store bought. I know that the kids cherrish things that are hand made by grandpa, much more than anything he could ever buy.

I'm doing ok, trying to get my bearings, Dad was in the hospital 2x within a month now so I'm just beginning to unwind a little, plus Mom recieved a new diagnosis with her health and I'm helping her with that too.

its a shame when ya have to take care of loved one at anytime and the christmas holiday too i lost my father on thanksgiving morning a few years ago, then i had to deal with the rest mom was lost for words , i now think i know how she felt almost.

I've been getting that same sinking feeling again. You know that feeling you get when the donut you just dunked into your coffee breaks off because it soaked up too much coffee and sinks to the bottom of the cup...Great! Now I'm hungry again!...Damn, I hate it when I use these food analogies...
