Song lyric help please
I'm thinking a bit fuzzy now, and although I've been known as the reigning Queen Of Google...hey, I'm sure not above asking for a little help from friends, for sure.
I need to find lyrics on line that I can print out, the song's from the funeral, I've clicked a few search result sites but don't seem to have the focus right now..
I need the lyrics to these, not sure of the titles of two of them....
Elton John's "Your Song"
(....you can tell everybody this is your song, it may be quite simple but now that's it's done, I hope you don't mind that I put into words how wonderful life is while you're in this world"
Beatles "Blackbird"
(Blackbird sings in the dead of night, mend your broken wings and learn to fly"
and a gospel song ....something about "In the Sweet, By and By"

Re: Song lyric help please
I did find the Elton John "Your song" but it has a few mispellings so it may be a "user submitted" version of the lyrics, so if anyone can still find me the original lyrics, I'll be so grateful.

Re: Song lyric help please
Blackbird-the Beatles
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Black bird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,oh
You were only waiting for this moment to arise, oh
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Re: Song lyric help please
Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin
It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

will this do chazzy
Sanford Bennett/Joseph Webster)
from Album: Amazing Grace 3 - A Country Salute to Gospel
There's a land that is fairer than day
And by faith we can see it afar
For the Father waits over the way
To prepare us a dwelling place there
Refrain
In the sweet by and by
We shall meet on that beautiful shore
In the sweet by and by
We shall meet on that beautiful shore
We shall sing on that beautiful shore
The melodious songs of the blessed
And our spirits shall sorrow no more
Not a sigh for the blessing of rest
(Refrain)
To our bountiful Father above
We will offer our tribute of praise
For the glorious gift of His love
And the blessings that hallow our days
(Repeat Refrain Twice)

Re: Song lyric help please
Thank you all, the few song lyrics I managed to find must have been "user submitted" because of some differences and mispellings that I found in them.
These lyrics here seem to be exactly what I was looking for, I think today I will try to busy myself a bit with putting together a photo/scrap book which will include these lyrics, the first two songs were sung my two of his best friend musicians who acommpianed themselve on their guitars (my brother was a drummer), the gospel song was sung and played by our family bluegrass/gospel family.
I'll be feeling better soon I'm sure
