Re: Tracking Truant Students using Anklets?
Is it me or does anyone else see the irony here? Where are the freakin' parents in all this sh*t? Assuming that there are parents in the picture, have they chimed in or have these students become latch key kids or worse......no parents at all? Has the state become a big baby sitting service like so many other states?
I'll tell you one thing. If the parents were required to wear those anklets around their freakin' necks, they'd f*ckin' know where their kids were at all times!!

Re: Tracking Truant Students using Anklets?
At my school we have students registered every lesson by computer, if the student shows as absent, the parent is automatically contacted via email or text and can contact the school to let us know they should be there. We have a couple of police officers on site who will keep an eye out for the students. The Educational welfare officer, is contacted and told the student is truanting straight away. At least the parent is made aware.
Students used to register first then leave the school, as only certain times of the day were registered, but now, every lesson, is, it has cut down on the truants.
