Chazzy, you know we are here for you. I lost my younger brother many years ago. I know what that heartache is like. I pray it does not happen to you. I have lost so many loved ones in my life and that is something no one can understand unless they have been through it.

Re: Tragedy
I'll be leaving as soon as possible today to go and be with him. I haven't gotten to see him yet, by the time I got to one hospital, he was being moved to another.
He's such a good man, and so young yet. I have to admit, I'm in hysterics unless I'm sedated...and since I have been alone through most of this...I've been sedated allot.
I still do not want to believe or accept this...

I know that feeling Chazzy, when I lost my brother I was 350 miles from home..visiting my grandmother with my father. I could not wait until morning, I left immediately. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you get there soon....My love to you, Goody

Re: Tragedy
I did get to the hospital, I came home late yesterday.
There was never really a chance for him, I spent the night there with him, I stayed with him till they came and took him to remove the organs he wanted donated, there were recipients matches already waiting, so today...others will live now.
He was young, and a good man and Goody, I will be going back to the hills soon now where he is will be laid to rest.

Re: Tragedy
Today, I must drive to be with my family at the funeral home, I know so many of you have been through this and you know...I woke up thinking maybe I would have just this one day to absorb everything, to just find a corner and grieve but if my family says they need me, I will go.
This horrible accident happened in my parents driveway, we are all so worried about how they will be able to return to living there, when it was just outside their back door that he died.
The only thing that kept them from dying of heartache was when they learned he wanted his organs donated, this seems to help them make some sense out of it all.
I am a woman of faith, but yes, I'm a bit pissed at Him because it all happened in front of my parents, at their home...but that's normal and I can't thank you all enough for allowing me to share with you now. I hate being such a buzzkiller to your happy times.

Re: Tragedy
The call came in yesterday, his liver is already being used by someone locally, his kidneys, heart and eyes will also be received by others.
We will get the paper work soon, and there will be a meeting between families of donors and the recipients. I'm sure that gathering will lift us all.

It is a wonderful thing for anyone to do, give their organs after they go, a little piece of your brother will live on in others, giving them the chance to live. He was a wonderful man to do that.

Re: Tragedy
Chazzy,
We are so sorry to hear about your tragedy. Sometimes we can never make sense of something so awful. Faith is invisible, it can only be felt, but hold on to it. Anger is part of the process you must go through when you lose someone you love.
Know we are all here for you if you need us.

You are not a buzzkiller, and what you feel is perfectly normal. I lost a friend many years ago who was young...her teenage children were so angry at her for leaving them so soon.
Your brother leaving his organs is one of the most unselfish things Chazzy. He had a very kind heart to do that. He will live on through others.
Taking him to rest in the hills, I can not imagine anything more peaceful or beautiful for him.

Re: Tragedy
He was a musician and his friends played a little for us, Elton John's "Your Song" and The Beatles "Blackbird" accoustically...of course, our own, the family that plays bluegrass/gospel played "In the Sweet by and by"
I cut a lock of my hair and placed in it an antique victorian locket and that was placed in his hands.
My husband is off from work till Friday and I do appreciate that time I'll have here with him, but then, I do look forward to some peaceful, quiet uninterrpted alone time too.
Goody, I can't say it was good to be back in the hills again at this time, but it was sweet to be there and the so many that gathered there with us, the so many that made that long drive only reinforces why I'm am so proud of I come from there, to be one of them.
